SI put out their updated NBA draft big board yesterday.

1. Zion Williamson - Duke
2. RJ Barrett - Duke
3. Ja Morant - Murray State
4. Cam Reddish Duke

(Chuma checked in at #75 and Wiley is N/A)

Anybody who says this team isn't built for the tournament is ignorant.
This team is as experienced and deep as any team in the country. They've already faced the best competition in the country and proven they can hang with anybody.

This is one of the top defensive teams in all of CBB this year, and AU has already shown they can use that to hang with anybody even if we're ice cold on offense, and that's what the detractors always want to say we can't do when coming up with a reason for them to claim AU will be an early exit.

AU leads the nation in forcing turnovers on 25.6% of opponents possessions. First in the SEC in steals per game, second in the SEC blocks per game and adjusted defensive efficiency, and third in the SEC in scoring defense.

How well does the 2-3rd best team in the SEC do in the tourney this year? I guess that’s where I’m most curious

It seems like the SEC has 3-4 tourney teams so it’s not altogether comforting to be coming in 2-3 on those stats I think our guard play and defense will do well for us in March. I would say we’re built well for a late season tournament but I’m not feeling overly confident yet

The SEC is top heavy. UT, AU, and UK could all be top 10 teams at the end of the season and State is pretty good too. LSU definitely has the talent if Wade can do his part on the coaching end. Arkansas is good enough too IMO. I think 4 is pretty much a lock barring State having a meltdown. Seems probable that at least one more team does well enough to get in and makes it 5.

State has already beat Clemson and Dayton in Dayton. I think they’re going to be a tough out.

This long break is for the birds.

Anybody know anything about 2020 recruiting beyond Sharife Cooper? It's like pulling teeth trying to get any info. None of the Auburn beats cover it.

I have a hard time seeing any team passing on an elite scorer like Barrett. I get Zion is a physical freak, but he’s going to have to become a better perimeter shooter if he’s going to live up to the hype (if that’s even possible).

Zion’s combination of size and touch around the basketball is so damn rare... Barrett’s probably the safer pick, but Williamson’s upside is considerably higher.

Good guard play, depth in the front court, solid defensively.

If we’re gonna be a legit contender come March, we gotta rebound better and improve at the foul line.

I’ve watched them some this year too. Thankful for the hand he played in changing the perception of the program, but glad he’s moved on.

UK is impressively bad at shooting. It’s really weird to see a UK team shoot this poorly.

Yeah, this sucks. And we've already had two or three week long breaks this season

If you mean 3FG shooting, UK has only been ranked top 100 in 3FG% 1 of past 7 seasons

Basketball recruits favor the national outlets and don't give team beat writers the time of day

Basketball staffs are much more tight lipped than football staffs/operations

Ole Miss is about to beat Vandy on the road... Kermit Davis is a pretty damn good coach.
