What is everyone's stance on taking Trickett?

Personally, I think we need the depth. He is eligible this season since we have his degree program. Dameuyne Craig coached him at FSU so I imagine he will have a lot of say in the decision. I know it takes away a scholarship, but it would give us a Barrett Trotter style QB on the bench for 2 years if someone transfers or gets injured.

Stats 66 of 106 7 tds 4ints

Thoughts?

I would guess he is a little better than Trotter though

That would be a shite ton of QBs. Kiehl, Jonathan, Nick, Jeremy and Jason. And talk of adding a 6th?

Yeah, DO NOT WANT.

He can go elsewhere. I'd rather the guys on campus and guys that will soon arrive on campus battle it out for the starting job. Adding another quarterback that hasn't proven to be good in the ACC would take away reps from the quarterbacks we already have.

Unless he wants to walk on, I'm fine with that. There's just no need to waste a scholly on him.

No thanks. He might provide some depth at QB, but it would certainly hurt in recruiting this year.

ETA: I think this coaching staff is going to get a year or two before they start feeling heat. It doesn't make sense to hurt recruiting now on a guy they may not even play.

Missing a bowl game will hurt recruiting more that adding Trickett. We have nothing at QB right now, why not add another QB that has at least played D1 college football. I do not see why everyone is banking on a DB from UGA to lead us anywhere.

I don't know about that. He's only got two more years to play, so if he were to win the starting job, whoever comes in would almost assuredly redshirt during Trickett's last year anyway.

Bring him in.. we don't have anything to lose in this situation. We already know what we have with Kiehl and Wallace. I don't think anybody really believes Jason Smith is ever gonna take a snap at QB. Jeremy Johnson has the most promise of anybody we have and he'll be a true frosh.. could be the next Cam or could be the next Kodi, nobody knows. We don't know what we get out of Nick Marshall in the passing department either.

The argument that our current QBs need more reps in practice so don't bring him in is a terrible reason. We can find time to give a guy some reps.

WE DO NOT HAVE A QUARTERBACK. Some law somewhere states that the more you have the better the chances you can find someone successful. Bring him in.

We're looking at probably signing Kendrick Doss wich is another project that may never turn out.

Clinkt Trickett. That is a NASCAR name if I've ever heard one.

This and whether he comes in or not, I am not convinved KF will stay on the team if he doesn't get the starting job. By the time fall rolls around he could end up being #3 if JJ is redshirted.

I've decided that if Gus and Lashlee decide they want him, I'm gonna bitch, moan, and whine about it under the pretence that I know more about football, QBs, and the Malzahn offense than, you know, Gus and Lashlee.

Its what I like to call "getting my Brannigan on".

Shouldn't be an issue since we don't have one on campus yet.

Sure why not, our QB situation is really fricking bad.I still think Marshall wins the job though.
