Durrell was/is only a sophomore this year I think. Maybe a redshirt sophomore if I’m not mistaken.

However the power run game we need a thumper in the room. That 6’ 220 plus frame

None of our current running backs is really a thumper.

Cobb
Mabson
Henderson
Robinson

Am I missing anyone?

He seemed like a tank to me; give it another offseason and I think he will be ready

Auburn needs immediate help at RB, OL and TE.

Transfer portal will determine what else, but those are for certain.

If we can keep the roster mostly intact with some portal help, this years class shouldn’t matter much.

And safety. The freshmen were good but the others were consistently burnt toast.

Those are a priority for Golesh in the portal.

Aside from the freshmen, that whole group disappointed. It really looked like they all regressed from last season.

Do you have a guess where we end up? Think we can crack top 25?

For high school - I don't think so, no. We're 38th on the Rivals/On3 rankings and I suspect we'll finish a few spots +/- that. There's just not many unsigned/uncommitted guys left and I don't think there's enough to push us up much further. Just my guess

Others have said it better than me, but I imagine the work being done now is meeting with players on the roster, evaluating film, and determining the priority guys at each position and what the needs are. Then move on to portal scouting/recruiting as soon as announcements start coming in about who is entering to address needs

A good portal class goes a long way this season. I think we got enough HS guys to keep things afloat

Plus we're in need of actual real world talent and not mere hopefuls from this weeks leftovers.

IMO we're not fretting a low ranking considering where we are this year... at least I'm not.

I am not either, I was just hoping a top 25ish might keep some AU fans from melting all over the rant.

Has there been any signs of any starters, or potential starters, being disgruntled over the Golesh hire?

I've seen one and there's no stopping that man. He could be the meat in a tit sandwich and he'd still be bitching bout something auburn related.
