The NCAA rule changes and statements have taken a black and white position that the HC/schools are responsible for their program compliance

It may be unfair but the person in charge is responsible.

As the FBI stated....Auburn University was the victim.

The FBI is talking in a legal context not NCAA enforcement.

So then by this same reasoning Bama should be hammered as bad as us, correct?

That’s the thing, there are legitimately 20-25 universities implicated in this whole ordeal, and most of them in a more touchy position than ours in relation to the violations at hand. That’s why it’s kinda baffling when they throw out the number 6 and everyone seems to be sure auburn is one of the six

If NCAA believes they or anyone broke the rules, I'd expect sanctions.

For Bama, I'd expect Avery to get a show cause and the program to receive some penalties. Nate Oats wouldn't be penalized personally for pre tenure failures unless Buffalo had something

When did I say we are getting hammered?

It is a slap on the wrist if we keep our coach, 11-12 scholarships + postseason w limited recruiting restrictions

It's Forde and Thamel. They threw out the names of schools who have had assts coaches implicated in wrongdoing. Did you notice that they didn't mention Duke?.......yet Zion's name was drug into the trial.

remember how the NCAA tightened up this loophole?

The NCAA is after schools who try to gain an advantage competing in sports. Auburn benefited in no way from what happened. In fact, Auburn was hurt by what went on with Person.

There are numerous schools who allegedly had shoe companies buying players for them. Auburn is not one of those schools.

Some of you all are hung up on the fact AU didn’t benefit from what Person was doing (in fact, he worked against the programs best interests)... while it’s true, the fact remains the associate HC was doing some bad shite... the NCAA may not care all that much.

People hate us. They think we're some kind of outlaw renegades that are somehow worse than everybody else. The rest of the SEC still hates us because they think we got away with paying Cam. The rest of the NCAA hates us because they hate the SEC. They all want to point to the Cam allegations or to our history with the NCAA even though we haven't had any major issues in over 25 years now.

Wow, I asked a simple question of whether you guys thought we are one of the six schools, and the answer resulted in multiple response pages.

:)

Answers my question that no one fricking knows what will happen - even Thamel and Forde.

My point is the NCAA may not care that AU didn’t gain a competitive advantage from what Person was doing.

rules were broken.... there will likely be consequences.

Jay Jacobs?

I’m confused.

No one is suggesting that Auburn cheated to gain a competitive advantage. Not sure why you are hung up on this non issue

That doesn't change that we broke rules by providing impermissible benefits and playing ineligible players.

AU would be punished for an operations failure not basketball issue. We hired a major financial risk and then failed to monitor him as he set up a scam. Compliance failures are punishable

Thamel is one of the biggest AU haters there is in the media. Always trying to drag us into shite. I wouldn't put any stock into him mentioning us

To answer your question, highly unlikely we get hit with level 1 violations. Would be a huge stretch to classify that wY

More likely is we get Level 2 failure to monitor.

Likely 6 schools for Level 1

Highly Likely
-Oklahoma St
-Arizona
-Louisville: Verbal notice
-Kansas
-

Solid Potential
- NC State
- South Carolina
- Oregon
- Clemson
- Southern Cal
- LSU
- Creighton

Possible
- Alabama
- Auburn
- TCU
- Miami

Hope that's not true cause I've watched him and that dude isn't playing the point in the league. Doesn't have the quickness/agility/ball handling skills

Not at PGs play like Isaiah Thomas. Stone "could" end up like a Lonzo Ball type. I used to like Kirk Heinrich a lot too. There's value at that position if you get facilitate, knock down shots, and get steals even without all the razzle dazzle

How AU Handled it - Only school to go through official NCAA reinstatement process - Went about process "right way" / cooperated with NCAA by all accounts - Fired involved coach who had extensive ties to AU

And for this we're going to be made examples of when we get our shite pushed in. We probably should have handled it like LSU and Kansas and said "kiss my arse"

LSU fans would disagree with your assessment of LSU’s handling it well, FWIW
