“Got our edge back. Very physical. Fast. We did a lot of 2 back, power runs. Had some young guys step up. Long time between game type situations, and everything that goes with that. It was a good week of practice. No doubt.”

Joey Gatewood started out with the 2s again. Pretty sure this is just a smoke screen.

From what Gus said after DJ sat out the scrimmage, Council can play all 5 OL positions, 93 plays, looking for "the Auburn standard".

Reports are Smoke Monday is taking reps at corner and learning the position just in case of massive emergency. Crazy to think about but the coaches are trying to develop a 4 deep depth chart. I guess we never know what is going to happen this year.

That’s good stuff bro. This can hopefully play itself out to be the training camp thread. The Vandy stuff is going to be a hurdle to get by though. I’m hoping to be able to turn YouTube TV back on.

Who is Council?

Zero Covid positive tests for the past 2 weeks on the team.

4 players did not compete this past week. No names mentioned.

Thx Lanier.

Also expect 4 scrimmages this fall. I would guess if they don't cancel the 4th scrimmage it will mainly be the backups getting more reps for the younger guys. Practice schedule will be Tues, Wed, Thurs, Saturday (scrimmage)

Rumor has it that the TE's caught 6-7 passes in the scrimmage and could possible been targeted a couple of other times. That would be like 2 years worth of TE passes in one scrimmage. Seriously tho I think it's actually true the TE is going to be much bigger part of the pass game, running backs as well.

They even staged this photo of Frazier with the ball. Clever bastards

With how often Morris targeted O’Grady last year this doesn’t surprise me much

That gap where the ball is exposed could lead to fumbles.

Tiki Barber had a technique he learned where he brought the point of the ball up and closed that gap where the ball would be less likely to be punched out.

Called it “high and tight.”

I’ll try to link an article about it.

Pick your favorite hall of fame Runningback and you’ll find a picture of them on google with the ball exposed.

Pictures are misleading. He may have a fumbling problem but this still shot won’t prove it

Of course, no way to know IF he will fumble, but I’m just saying reducing the chance is worth the time of the coaches and players.

Also, photo looks like an inside run.
Got to protect the ball.

Carrying the way he has it in the picture is not the type of ball security that “the best in college football” demonstrate.

I hope he wins 3 heismans and never fumbles.

Like this gap?

The ball is in the back part of his arm pump, there will be a gap.

He may or may not have fumble issues, that pic doesn’t show anything one way or the other.

Guy I know who claims to have a source said we looked good on O. D lagged a bit. Not sure if I believe he has a source or if we looked good on O.
