Gus has been the coach since 2013. 7 years under his belt as a head coach, 6 at Auburn.

In ALL but 1 season at Auburn he has at least 4 losses. 5 most seasons.

Now you are right Gus runs a tight ship. He runs a clean program. We have good graduation rates and don't have players being arrested.

But college football is all about results on the field. Having 4 or 5 Ls EVERY SINGLE SEASON gets OLD.

Gus is doing a fine job running the AU football program.

If by "doing a fine job running the AU football program" you mean being like 7-15 combined against your 3 biggest rivals, giving up the series lead vs UGA, losing 4 games every single season after year 1 (5 most seasons,) and losing to inferior bowl teams almost yearly then you are absolutely right.

If that isn't what you meant... Well...

All good points. These things ebb and flow though if you run a good program, unless you're Alabama. In other words I don't expect AU will be 7-15 against rivals moving forward.

DJ spoke to media today -

Workouts since last year said he was able to improve his body.

The running back battle isn't a battle they are all brothers trying to help each other improve.

Running backs involved more in the passing game. There's the word again. Explosive offense.

Trained with Sammy Watkins in the off season. NFL players pushed him.

Considers himself a downhill runner. Worm get to the edge and is gone. Tank is the same way but can run inside as well same as MAR. Harold can catch out of the backfield.

Thinks everyone will get a chance on offense. Freshmen included. Keep improving get better.

We hear that every year with a Gus offense, only for it to be more like explosive diarrhea.

This isn't a Gus offense, it's a Morris offense that will look familiar in some ways, and advanced in others.

I hope you’re right, but we’ve heard that song and dance before with previous OCs too.

We haven’t had an actual established football guy like Morris as OC either. Just yes men.

Yeah, I get that but Morris has way more juice and accolades than any previous OC's under Gus.

Again, if Gus proves me wrong and tries to take over from Morris, I will hate Gus more than anyone here.

Jville, I have not paid much attention to practice reports but I’ve seen more action backing up the talk than before. The biggest action of all is our recruitment of TE’s. I know that is a stupid reason to think our gameplay will be different but I just cannot let that go.

We have read about the talk. Our defenders say the offense is nothing like it ever been. Offense thinks they will work the middle. That could just be noise-generated hype.

However, the increase in targeting TE recruits and new emphasis on RBs in passing game are pivots away from the norm. I swear at one point I think we offered like 5 TEs in Colorado in a one week stretch. Stuff like that stick out like a sore thumb.

First play:
“Auburn lines up in Notre Dame Box. Here’s the snap. Pirouettes in all directions. Where’s the ball? Touchdown Auburn!”

Next Possession:
“Auburn in wildcat, Shivers hands to Stove on the Jet. Eli pitches it to Bo. He’s got Schwartz deep behind the defense. Touchdown Auburn!!l”

Third through 12th possessions:
“Shotgun. Snap. Shivers on inside zone. 2 yards. Tigers going NASCAR. Snap. Inside zone again. Shivers breaks two tackles and get back near the line of scrimmage. Third down. Subbing in more receivers. Here’s the snap. Everyone goes deep. Bo running for his life. Smart play to toss it out of bounds.”

Auburn RB D.J. Williams said he trained during the shutdown with Sammy Watkins.

You might remember that Watkins played for Auburn's New Offensive Coordinator™.

Don’t know how they know each other, not even same position. Weird but true.

DJ did say today that he and Watkins didn’t even discuss Morris being the OC. Was just about training. DJ probably didn’t know Watkins played for Morris is my guess and Watkins may not even know DJ plays for Morris now. Just sounds like both were trying to stay in shape and get better.

I kinda doubt both of these

The day Chad Morris got hired here, Tajh Boyd tweeted out something in support of Morris at Auburn

They keep up with this stuff

I love you man

2016
2017
2018
and so on.

Wash, rinse, repeat. Just block and copy that statement every year.

Except for 2019 where everyone was happy it was a Gus offense and plays were being called by him.

Hope you are doing well out west brother. Saw this morning where it was 51 in Denver. There is really no human reason for it to ever get that cold

It is Gus’s program.

8 years in, it is all his.
Offense, defense, special teams.

At this point, Gus needs to improve his records versus Georgia and LSU.

He’s won the west twice and SEC once.

Is that enough? Depends on how we compete- next year.

Eliminating the Wildcat will show me we are really in a new offense.

How are we going to do the Bo at Flanker play where the jet reverse is pitched back to him and he finds Shenker on a 2 yard drag?

Wildcat engaged!
