I'm not a religious man, but i'm all for having someone on staff that fills the need folks have for spirituality. Now could i do without a coach saying 'it's a god thing' and talking more about football adn coaching football than god...sure could.
Now if Brannigan said this I would be fine with it.

I think Chette's employed by FCA and not the team. Not completely sure.
And we'll always have a chaplain. Every team does.

Doesn't every team have a team chaplain or some FCA guy? I don't think recruits would like it if we got away from the god stuff completely.
We could always hire Wayne Dickens. He is a reverend and the head of FCA for Lee County. Started at DT on the 2004 team and played in the league. All around badass

I do on occasion, nobody knows how to do it like I do.
Now, to the next point.. After reading your post, I believe you should brush up on the teachings of your mythology readings.
I've got no beef with Chette.. He is what he is, and I respect the beliefs of the players that need him around.. Now as far as team slogans pertaining to "God", those should never surface again.

I think it's probably best if we not get into religious discussions, because as we all know, those rarely end well.

Two days of posts in this thread and you reply to my comment? I've got no intentions on discussing religion, but I will reserve the right to retort a "go frick yourself" comment. No harm intended

bro just because I replied to your comment doesn't mean I'm singling you out. I just want to curb that nonsense before it goes somewhere.
Have any of you ever been in a religion conversation on a football message board and had it end well?

That is actually far from the truth when looked at unbiased. Most atheists have no issues with and are very tolerant of other's beliefs. On the other hand, if you tell a christian that you don't share their beliefs, you more than likely will have to walk away before they will shut up about why you are going to hell and/or should change your wicked ways.
When it comes to religion, there is no right or wrong answer and yet people take other's personal opinions on it so harshly it is ridiculous.

I'm a Christian.
I don't give a flying frick if you go to Hell or not.
Maybe that means I'm not a very good Christian.

How often does Chette Williams come over to your place and "preach at you" again?
And he refuses to leave when you ask him to? HOW RUDE!
My post wasn't specifically about Chette Williams but in general. I am a religious person but do not like to have "hollier than thou" type of folks tell me what I am doing wrong and where I will end up in eternity. Religion to me is a very personal thing. It is no one else's business on how I practice or don't practice it but there are others out there that will say that you are doing it wrong if you don't do it their way. I respect all peoples views on religion and even those that don't believe. I grew up in a very religious community and found it very interesting that a lot of those people didn't practice what they were preaching at you.
