Julien can't be getting more than a 40% scholarship right now. So likely if he leaves we have a nice stockpile to go grab a strong juco kid. Similar to what we did with Brett Wright last year into Matt Scheffler this year.
But the reason you see so many guys leave after their junior year is the signing bonus. A junior will generally get their slot value, where a senior will get a third of slot. Because MLB teams knows the guy has to sign now or go play Indy ball for a year.
All of that said, Julien can get drafted this year and still come back next year without really hurting himself.
