I think it’s better to develop relationships with historical recruiting areas but QBs are a different story. Elite QBs are program defining and I don’t mind going where we need to go in order to get him.

We’re on pace to sign 3-4 guys outside our traditional area this year. I think that’s OK. I’m concerned when it becomes half

Also when I was googling for the videos I found this article about him from June 1. Its a good read if anyone is interested.

I don’t hate it. 40’s obviously aren’t the end all be all and have no bearing on game speed really. A 4.20 shuttle and a 4.60 40 don’t really match anyways, so it’s possible he just had a bad run.

I didn’t think he was slow, just didn’t look from
The film that he had that insane top gear, but I’m not expert by any means. I loved his film though. Loved how much he caught with his hands and how many types of things he did. He would be a huge addition if we could get him.

Nuggets from Keith the past few days

-AU likely in the Top 3 for LJ Johnson with Texas A&M & LSU but likely still a long shot
-AU has stayed on Baylor commit 3* WR Hal Presley & has become a major factor
-Sounds like AU has transitioned to wanting the 1 or 2 best WRs available instead of making sure at least 1 is a speedy slot type
-Roc Taylor, Malcolm Joohnson, & Presley look like the top 3 WR targets right now
-AU not in it for 4* WR Deion Colzie
-Staff very high on 3* OT Diego Pounds & Bicknell is working hard on him
-Sounds like Pounds is next on the board if we miss on Mims & Byrd as expected
-Contrary to reports a couple weeks ago AU is very much a factor for 4* TE Michael Trigg & may be the favorite
-An SEC assistant recruiting 5* LB Smael Mondon thinks AU may be 1 of if not the favorite

If we get Mondon, some of you owe TWill an apology

Don't believe I've said anything negative about him other than not communicating with Ian Jackson after we offered. For all I know that could have been a directive from Steele.

One thing I know for sure — these “insiders” are pushing some lofty expectations on the fanbase for this recruiting class.

Maybe I’m being pessimistic but we look like we’re right on pace to be where we usually end up

Doesn't mean it's fact but Keith basically said it yesterday in a post FWIW.

They are saying expect another top 10 class but make Top 10 sound much better than normal. lol

Some have alluded to multiple 5* guys on defense. One of them is saying top 5. Most are suggesting we’re “in it” for guys we’re way behind on.

Just saying. It’s going to be a headache in February dealing with the expectations

Okay but this happens every year right?

Like you said, we'll end up right where we always end up, which--as has been demonstrated--is enough to compete for Atlanta on a regular basis

I want Malcolm Jr.'s attitude as much or more than anything else. That shite can become infectious. Great read. Thanks and WDE.

Absolutely. He is a kid that definitely seems to have it all figured out. Great head on his shoulders. Very similar to Pappoe.

I’m not mad about it. There’s just a bit more hype than the last few years which makes me nervous. We’re obviously in play for too 5 if we land Kook aid, Scooby, and Mondon. But odds on all three is looooong

But this is a fun one

I wonder what the domino effect will be in recruiting regarding this. Programs less willing to take Cali recruits early?
