Fromm started as a true freshman.

Why can’t Nix?

I doubt it since Gus is still our coach

I think it’s more about the talent level surrounding the TF QBs than anything.

Jalen and Fromm did well as TF but who did they have to depend on?
Who will Nix have to depend on? A patchwork OL, Gus’s five plays, and two relatively average backs?

Maybe some grad transfers all over the field.

You’re right, but I’m trying to “keep hope alive”

I actually feel like the line played better as the year went on. Another offseason together and they should be serviceable next year. Nix moves around the pocket pretty well, so that helps. Biggest issue I see is replacing Tega if he goes pro. I’ve seen him mocked as high as 2nd round several times.

If i'm not mistaken Hurts had Kiffin and Sark in his corner, Fromm had Jim Channey, Nix will have Gus

Prayers sent

Sark and Chaney are both mediocre (at best) OCs... not sure that’s helping your argument.

Kiffin called all but one of Hurts games I think.

Absolutely could be. I think he will be Auburn's most talented QB when he steps on campus

Question though will be whether or not OL is good enough to give him a run game & will Gus trust his do or die year with a true freshman

Fromm was able to grow in his role with Michel and Chubb and even this year he can rely on Holyfield and Swift. Bo is not so lucky

Fromm had two great RBs in Sony Michel and Nick Chubb and a very talented group of WRs. Unless Gus figures out how to shore up that offensive line, the QB is going to just be running for his life. At that point might as well put the fastest guy back there. Willis.

I heard a ridiculous stat on Bo Nix this week on sportscall radio. It was something like he's had ZERO sacks this year and only like 4 for his high school career. So unless he's playing behind the second coming of the 90s Denver Bronco Oline, that's damn good pocket awareness! Im all for him getting a legit shot at starting... but Gus...

... and why I've said let Gatewood run the ball?

Down vote away - but the big boy would probably run the ball better than anyone from this year.

PFF rated him as the top pass blocking OT in the conference. He only gave up 2 sacks on the year. Our interior OL was trash but Tega was actually very solid.

If Nix is as smart as you all think he is, he will sign anywhere but Auburn.
