It's a good thing we hired the best defensive coordinator in the country so we can get (personal foul) penalties fixed.

Does anyone else have a problem with this comment?

that just seems like a really weird statement. I can't quite put my finger on it, there's so much wrong with it

Yes and no. I would rather have Muschamp in charge of discipline than Gus, but Gus is the HC and should take responsibility

Yes that's a head coach responsibility IMO

It's called deflection.

Exactly, it's a little concerning that he wants to separate himself when there's such an obvious problem.

its not just that, theres so many different things I could point out that irk me.

like... why cant you give discipline

and we're paying that kind of money JUST so we get less PF?

and THATs the only thing you see wrong with the defense?

He's the HC, he should have some responsibility when it comes to discipline. This will be a huge offseason for Gus. I'm not saying he's on the hot seat, but he needs to improve overall as a HC

Who's the head coach? Who did he say was going to correct the playcalling?

Well, it's also pretty obvious he leaves the defense up to the defensive coaches.

Yep. Gus leaves defensive discipline up to the defensive coaches. They're the ones spending time with the players everyday at practice, teaching command of the sidelines. He knows his limits. He also knows Muschamp isn't going to allow that kind of shite to go on.

You don't pay a defensive coordinator as much as Auburn does to let the defensive coordinator take a back seat on defensive fouls. Period.

I would have liked to hear him fess up on his poor play calling today. Our D sucked. It has all year. Play calling was very suspect all day, IMO.

I agree to an extent, but it's a little concerning that if we get a complete dud DC then we're screwed. We completely wasted this year because no one knows how to improve our shitty defense.

To be fair, our offense has been stagnant for quarters of most games. It's not all on the defense although the defense is clearly an area for drastic improvement.
