quote:Got a great deal on one of these about 15 months ago - guy who owned one of those Papa Murphy's Pizza joints had bought one to do demos on how to cook one of their pies on a grill - then sold the business and didn't need it. Actually delivered it to my driveway one morning, fully assembled but never used, for $200
Chargriller akorn. Love mine.
It replaced an old one I'd bought used for $50 at a yard sale a couple of years earlier, that had rusted completely to hell (it was already partway there when I bought it). I've used it at minimum 2x a week, but never smoked anything in it (I prefer grilling over an open flame, even ribs). And yes, the stock thermometer is useless - please let me know if/when you find some kind of semi-accurate replacement.
Plan on eventually replacing it with a BGE when this one falls apart, provided the world doesn't end first - whoops, don't want to violate Jonesy's request, so I'll stay out of that rabbit hole...

For all you grillers- you want to up your meat game? Thermapen MK4 will change everything.
I know, I know, you already have a meat thermometer. This is better, instant read and accurate. Don't let the price scare you, you'll nail every cook from here on.
Pull each piece of chicken at 165 exactly, get each steak perfect, pork at 145 and climbing. Everything is juicy and nothing is overcooked and dry. The Mrs (no pics) uses it all the time now too doing other cooking stuff inside, not just grilling.
Sometimes you'll find them on sale.

We use ours daily. Unfortunately, they were on sale for $60 this past week...looks like they're full price again

I feel like some might forget the true meaning behind the JLA and it'll just become another footnote in some law text.
We need to find an acronym that can remind every individual poster to think before they post, so they will not offend anyone...just a reminder of sorts after you type a response but before you click submit. When you read your response and maybe make an edit, you think to yourself 'now its not offensive'
We just need to think of an acronym that'll remind posters to be considerate of others and to audit their posts so they can say "Now Its Not Offensive"
