A 15-20 point beating is a possibility every time this squad takes the floor. This is a weird bunch... Extremely frustrating sometimes, extremely fun sometimes.
22-3 during what I would describe as a down year is incredible. Auburn is 22-3 and we aren't very good. Bruce Pearl is the man!

Really meant 5-seed more than anything. But fully admit I'm young to the ways of b-ball, especially understanding tournament seeding. It’s not like my Auburn fandom has offered me many opportunities to learn until Bruce. My school days were Lebo and Beard-Eaves...so yeah all this tournament stuff still new ish to me.

Honestly not that upset about the game tonight. Can’t over react with every basketball game. We lost plenty of games during the regular season last year and it didn’t stop us from having an incredible tourney run. If I would have asked you if you would trade a loss at Mizzou for the run of 7 straight games we pulled off before, I think everyone would have taken that.
Tonight we made a run in the second half and cut it to 5. Mizzou responded with 5 straight points to get it to 10. What we needed was one more run to reestablish this a 5 point game down the stretch and I would have liked our odds. The technical foul on Cambridge ended up giving them a quick 6-0 run and cost us a player when we were already short handed. Couldn’t overcome it on the road. We will have better days.
Wiley, Doughty, and J’Von all had big days and we did a good job attacking the basket. Okoro would have made a big difference in this game probably keeping one of Smith and Pinson from going off. Oh well, let’s take our frustration out on UGA next week.

Not even disappointed tonight of the team because I’m still hours later completely furious over Cambridge lack of self control. Total asshead move and hopefully gets another game suspension as well. That is not Auburn at all and completely unacceptable in any form or fashion.

He’s a dipshit. We need Okoro’s veteran presence badly. lol
Saw all of this on another board:
Flanigan is 4-32 from 3 this year. Yet shoots at a 55% clip from inside the 3 point line.
-We are 39th in country at highest rate of 3 point attempts.
-309th in 3 point accuracy. (lol)
-27th in 2 point accuracy
-12th in offensive rebounding
-2nd in ability to draw FTs.
The last three statistical spotlights should be where we concentrate our gameplan throughout the rest of the season. We are not a 3s team which sucks because we had one sexy offense last year. But we are not. Shooting the 3 is about as bad as Gus’s dive up the middle.

That is an amazing stat after last year

We are hard to watch at times and losing Okoro hurts maybe as much defensively as offensively. I am preparing for a rough stretch the next few weeks.

Is Okoro out for 2 weeks, 3 weeks? More?

The way he doesn't square up looks awkward. He does it with his FT shooting and he isn't good at that either. Hopefully somebody works with him on his shot in the off-season.

I don't think anyone can tell how long Okoro is out. The key will be WHEN he can practice. If he can't practice by Tuesday, that is not good for GA game.

Yeah, that amazes me too. To be a ex-player/coaches son, it is hard to believe he didn't learn the proper way to shoot.
And the fact he took 3 shots beyond the arc is amazing. He knows that is NOT his game, but he still did it. I realize he is a freshman, and probably in HS he made most of his points from around the basket, but he has to know how to play smarter.
He has that inside type of body and mentally he plays like an inside power forward but he is not tall enough to play inside so his success comes from his D, and ability to get inside.

I don't know. I'd assume 2 weeks, but without knowledge of the severity it's a guess.

Same. He would be okay to be a slasher and D player, but our offense needs someone to stretch out the defense, and he’s not it.

This was a bit of a trap game anyway. On the road, no Okoro. I believe Pearl wanted to see someone step up instead we stepped on a leg. This team is capable of beating anyone but they have to play inspired etc. and require having everyone available. The 3 % is inconsistent but we have to make them to beat very good teams so I have no problem firing away at this point in the season. Sloppy game and the guys looked tired overall, but this assessment that we can’t do this or that because of one game is an overact. Great job guys

We have struggled on offense, specifically from the perimeter, all conference season long

You want to avoid a 4-5 seed so you don't play a 1 seed in sweet 16. However, we went that route last year and had success.

We looked like a team playing without the best player. Most were not capable of stepping up and leading anyway. Samir had 2 3 pt attempts. He needs 7 or 8 a game without okoros scoring on the floor. He has to carry the load and the O has to run through him
