Ronney Daniels in 1999 and Beasley had a 1000 yard season in the 70s

I thought about him but we were so bad that year, it surprises me.

He has the single season receiving record for Auburn. Looking through our stats though, that is like winning the special olympics. It's awesome but you aren't going against Michael Phelps

Yeah, AUs history is low score, great defense.

It is of no surprise that GUs is crushing the stat lines.

I can go back to 2004 and find no 1000 yard reciever for AU. Karsten Bailey may have in 1997 but I am not sure.
If not for a penalty in the Outback Bowl, Adams would have went over 1k on the year in 2009.

My biggest concern is they seem to play much better at home. Their only home loss so far is a 3 pt OT loss to uga, and then they beat S Car the next week. I think it'll be a pretty vanilla offense from us again as we run it over and over until they stop us. They probably will have the best OL we've gone against and we didn't look too good against Ark's OL. Ark has better RB's, but I think the key is going to be pressuring the freshman QB. If we can get in his head and force him to make some bad passes, I think we win easily. If we can't get to him, they might make it a close game. Tenn has some pretty good WR's.
I agree with this, and I am worried about this game. With the way our defense played Saturday, we could end up giving up a lot of points.

Add to that we will not have much film on Dobbs - maybe 5 or 6 quarters worth? He is a dual threat and we won't really know his tendancies. I would feel a bit better about it if he had played in a couple of more games before this one so EJ could scheme for him.

I also think the Tenn D will crash the middle of the line and force the run game to the outside. We have good speed to the corner, but if we can't mix it up now and then it will take away from some of the variations of Gus's O.

We did a really nice job of limiting Ole Miss's read-option earlier in the year... stood Lawson up on the corners and let him make the play. I think we'll see more of that on saturday.

FWIW, I don't think we'll see Dobbs keep it all that much on Saturday... probably less than 6 times. Every other UT QB is injured.

UT is not playing great at home. SCar and UGA had to play by far their worst games of the year for UT to win 1 and make the other close. Also don't forget they had to stop 1st year D1 school South Alabama on 4th and goal late to keep that game from going into OT. That game was at home and an 11 AM kick. We will have to play our worst game of the year for UT to compete. While it's possible, I am not predicting that to happen.

Butch said they're working more on him keeping it but that could be dangerous. He's not very big and could get crushed. Gotta be thinking EJ is going to emphasize to the DL that the 2 and 3 gaps need to be locked tight. Let them try to the outside, Therezie should crush that and the CBs have been pretty good at run support there.

Butch also noted that they significantly lack speed on Defense, especially the outside. Gus is going to run some serious plays out there that will gash them, especially Marshall if that DE plays in.

Coates might have a monster day if 1) he catches the GD ball and 2) Marshall hits that shite in stride. Jet sweep w/ Grant might be there if he doesnt fricking dance around once he gets out there.

Think we need to put away the tunnel screen on 3rd down and try it on 2nd. Teams are looking for that play.

I'm becoming less worried as the week goes on and as I look at the matchups.

Then Idon't see Butch running him much. You cannot risk injury and have your 4th stringer plkay the final month of the season.

UT is just working to get to the offseason.

No, I tried to go to two games this year, but my Texas aTm game fell through at the last moment. I was actually supposed to go watch the game with Sandman.

However, I have my plane tickets and heading to my parents for the UGA game. We have to beat them after what I sat through last years game. I will be really disappointed otherwise. Still would be happy with the season.

Tenn is 100th in rush D. A&M loaded the box a lot and Arky did a good bit too, and we still ran easily on both of them. We'll be able to beat them inside and outside on the ground.

I would think that Lawson and Barber would have some intel on Dobbs since they were all at Milton. I'm sure he has received lots of coaching but what a QB does under pressure naturally can't be coached out of them in 6 months.

Dobbs played at Alpharetta HS, not Milton... they probably played against him, though
