If I'M Kevin Steele/Rodney Garner...

End - Nick Coe: Nick is about 6'5 270 right now and he can get to the QB and play the run.

DT - Marlon Davidson: Marlon is about 275 now. I get him up to 285/290 and move him inside. His quickness will really disrupt. He needs to study Aaron Donald.

NT - Derrick Brown: Cat-Quick at 6'5 325, I expect him to DOMINATE next season.

BUCK - Big Kat Bryant: I think Big Kat has a double-digit sack season if we align like this.

Also like TD Moultry & Coynis Miller to ball out

I'm thinking Richard Jibunor makes some noise next year.

Jibunor has the skills to play Buck and a traditional LB spot, but I think he's got a much better chance of being the speed/edge rusher that we need in the Dee Ford mold, but can also drop into coverage.

All the talent in the world. We'll see if they perform better next year. We were gashed sever games. Not sure if it was lack of motivation, lack of preparedness, or combo but the talent is there.

Steele has to get creative with them...3-4 Edge rushers on passing downs, etc

He has the exact skills as Dee Ford. They look identical on the field

Wasn’t it supposedly “stacked” this year?

Not sure he's an every down player yet but I definitely think he should be in AU's Rabbit package next year

I would slide Coe/Brown inside & have Big Kat/Jibunor on outside in pass rush situations

Jibunor did well in the bowl. Can't wait to see him next year.

We lacked a pure pass rusher. A year older big Kat and Jibunor should fix that issue.

Clemson defense 2018/2017
50 QB hurries (3.33) / 45 Hurries (3.21)
54 sacks (3.6/gm) / 46 sacks (3.29/gm)
136 TFL (9.07/gm) / 109 TFL (7.79/gm)

Auburn defense 2018/2017
46 QB Hurries (3.53) / 65 QB Hurries (4.64)
38 sacks (2.92/gm) / 37 (2.64/gm)
96 TFL (7.39/gm) / 82 TFL (5.86/gm)

In short, it’s really good to get your great DL back. Numbers usually improve a bit There’s some variables with DBs/LBs factoring in but the DL in both data sets are doing the majority of the recordable work

So basically looking at that, our DL is terrible at finishing the job

It’s pretty average conversion rates from looking at a lot of different teams. Carl Lawson and Dee Ford’s hurries vs sacks would probably you sick I think the takeaway is that good pass rushers pressure and sack a lot, ratio be damned

Guys like Brown do things that don’t show up on the stat sheet, he plays more of a NT than DT role which is to crash gaps for run blocking vs getting after QB.

Except for we had an actual nose tackle in Russell who was excellent at his position. Face it, Brown had a good not a great year.

Agreed. Russell was the one charged with clogging things up. Brown was supposed to be the one causing havoc, which he did at times.
