100% if he loses this weekend.

We're not beating TAMU, UGA, or Bammer

. . . dud could loose everything but the last one and he'd likely get another year extension.

Yes

I hope not, but yes.

The optics of a school spending 40m+ to change the football coach is just awful. And being completely honest, it's probably an awful use of money in reality (not just optics).

Got to agree with you on this one. He has one more year, there will be a bunch of staff changes in the off season, but Gus will lead them out of the tunnel in Dallas next year. All we can do now is bite the pillow and cry ourselves to sleep.

This will also hastens Leaths downfall.

The prevailing wisdom is anyone but Gus. Pay them 3 million a year and raise 16 million from booster. I am told we are at 20 million.

then I guess this is it, because we aren't beating OM.

The players have cashed it in. Only a handful still playing. That's all on Gus. Goodbye Gustav. We barely even knew ye

If Guarantsno can throw for 328 yards on our pass defense then Ta'mu is going to pass for 500 yards

ANyone that thinks Gus is gone if he loses the rest of his SEC games, is not looking at it realistically.

He will be here next year, with ofc a lot of changes, but for these reasons:
1. He has a too high of a buyout. Simple as that.
2. He has built a decent resume that can't be matched by too many.(2 wins over Saban, who has lost only one game a year for how many years now? Gus has won 2 SEC West championships. He has been to a NC. Till this year, he has not lost to an inferior SEC team. When he has lost, he has lost to top level SEC teams(alabama, LSU, GA, etc))
3. He has recruited well, regardless of weaknesses in certain areas at times.
4. The new AD won't pull the trigger in his first year.

I don't even think an Iron Bowl victory would save him from losing to Liberty.

I also found this on PM's board i'll keep the persons who posted it name anonymous in case they are on here. (im a member of multiple Auburn boards im sure most of yall are as well.)

"When Gus got the new deal, Harbert agreed to be on the hook for some of the buyout if the decision was made to buy Gus out at some point . sources say they believe the money will be there to buy Gus out next month if that's what they want to do. General feeling is he cant survive 5-7. he's most likely back with 7-5. 6-6 would most likely depend on how bad the iron bowl outcome is."

I would not count on that. Boosters will pay the $16 million. Then the next 16 is over 5 years. (Rougly 3 million). Pay a new guy 18- 20 million for 5 years. TOTAL 52 million.

With Gus 42 million. Without Gus $52 million

Cost to get rid of Gus is 10 million. I am told that has been raised.

He is gone, if they lose to Liberty. I don't care if the buyout is 100 million.
