That might be possible, if the doc allows to play through the pain. He broke a bone so hopefully no screws.

Curious if they’re are any medical professionals here that understand hand injuries.

It’s going to be hard for anyone to e-diagnose without knowing what specifically he injured/broke

I’ll find the article but it specifically listed the bone broken in his hand, I understand a metacarpal is different from carpal due to flexsion and extension.

Edit: The article didn’t list the specific bone or injury.

And....
Schwartz underwent a surgical procedure Monday afternoon to repair the hand. He is expected to miss at least three weeks of workouts, but could potentially sit out longer, a source said

His hands are good enough that he's still tweeting

Sit him the first two weeks of necessary. He's a huge weapon, but I think the offense will be more run heavy against Oregon. Especially if Gatewood starts.

Nothing like stretching the field from sideline to sideline when the power read and run game is hitting.

Thankfully we have Shivers and Stove who are pretty damn quick themselves.

Anyone heard of his knee is Ok? Didn’t he leave practice early to get it looked at?

He looked to be comfortable in the practice videos. Of course thats no real test but he did seem to be cutting some.

And I agree with House of Waffles. (Love that name). Hate to lose Schwartz but we still have Stove and Shivers and we will be fine.

you don't need hands to run the jet sweep. i don't see the problem here...

Hate it for Schwartz but hopefully this set back opens up opportunity for Gus to see others in action instead of just having 1 "jet sweep guy"

I think that Schwartz is a more complete faster WR than Stove, and definitely Shivers. He is more versatile for the sweeps or the WR passes.
To me we are less effective w/o him, and will miss his offense, if he can't go against Oregon.

Im not sure I agree with that. Not completely. Yes he is faster but that goes without saying. He still looks awkward out there to me. Like he has direct speed but no cutting ability or moves. You know if he gets into space that he is impossible to catch but that open space does not come easily.

Stove did well on the end arounds and he is a little larger. As for receiving, I think Stove was a little bigger and better target. Schwartz certainly was improving and has more of an upside due to the world class speed but I just cant explain it, he just did not look comfortable out there once he got the ball.

Its certainly splitting hairs though. We can be very good with either..

I actually jumped the gun on your question. I did not realize that he had tweeted his knee again this weekend. The videos I saw were before that. Sorry.

The reports say he is only being held out for minor knee injury and it is purely precautionary.

Makes sense. Sprinting is about maximum straight line and optimum, not necessarily maximum, acceleration to get there. It's certainly not about sudden mid-route accelerations or cuts to create separation.

We all want the mid back ASAP, but he does have good prospects for a potential seven digit earning career as a sprinter. If that continues to look promising, wouldn't blame him if he decided to step away from football completely at some point.
