Agreed! Too bad we don't have enough quality QBs on roster to put him at Flex TE. He could be one of the best in college football there if thrown to.
I have not idea why people think that way. Just because a kid is big, that doesn't mean he will make a good tight end. It is not a simple position to play. Plus, I hate to break hearts but Joey looks clumsy at times out there running. He is not a smooth runner. Not like I thought he would be. He is not the Cam Newton running QB we thought he would be.
A tight end must be tough, not scared of contact and be about to run routes and catch. Who knows if he can do any of that. Im certainly not going to crown him the best/

quote:Well I got it from back when he was a recruit when recruiting reporters at each of the three major recruiting sites said if he came out projected & recruited as a tight end he would’ve been the number one rated tight end in the class based off his work in high school with his physicality and his receiving ability when he played wide receiver in high school which he did a good bit of his first three years in high school along with running back. It’s not something I would just throw up there. Also a flex tight end is normally more of a receiving tight end a la Ephtam from Ole Miss. Not as much physicality is required from those type of tight ends. That being said, I believe if Joey did make the move and was fully committed to it he could be a very physical tight end.

He should transfer to ND, Oklahoma State or Michigan then anyways because we don't throw to tight ends much or as middle of the field as QB safety valve even when we have them

I forgot where I read it but it sounds like staff is getting impatient with Jeremiah Pegues. They will only wait on him for so long before looking at JUCo guys

You could build an entire program around GA and MS DTs.

When the nips get cold outside, you know that somewhere there is a bad man on the recruiting trail eating mommas peach cobbler with more intensity.

I thought this was interesting in PMs insider notes.
Joiner needs to be tougher to see more action.
so everyone in the recruiting thread that said he was soft I guess you weren't wrong

Did you see his 247 interview? It didn’t seem like Bama was really pushing

quote:Yes but often times I pay more attention to what reporters say and find out through sources than what recruits say Since recruiting is sometimes a big game of pastoring between recruits & the schools. Both 247 and rivals Bama reporters have said Bama is very heavily involved with Webb.

FWIW Keith says LSU would still take Webb.
