Why would Jaylin or Flanigan not come back?

Because that's just how college sports works right now. You don't assume anyone is coming back until you know for sure

I think Jaylin is for sure back. I could see Allen leaving if Wes gets a HC job.

Probably bc he was not happy w his playing time and would want to go somewhere else where he definitely can be a starter.

Now Pearl said he wants to build next year’s team around Jaylin. It’s going to how Jaylin feels about believing Pearl or little playing time bothered him more.

Did he really say this? I mean Jaylin was huge for us last night but he really struggled overall this season. Love the dude but is the kind of player you can build a really good team around?

Jaylin was going to transfer last year, Bruce had to recruit him back and Flan has been at Auburn for a while now wouldnt be surprised to see him go test the portal. I just dont feel anyone i put in the TBD part is 100 percent to return.

I assume Westry would play the 3 or some at the 2 if can shoot well from outside.

Besides needing a pf, another C if Kessler leaves I think we definitely need a better SG. If we don’t get one then that means Pearl will keep Wendell at PG, Donaldson as backup and then move Zep to the 2 bc it seems he shoots a good ball and he wouldn’t have to focus only on being a pg. His D is great but his offense from there didn’t generate much offense.

thats not going to work in the sec. i really hope we go out and get a couple 40 % 3 point shooters. return to that 19 type team.

Yes he did on his pc.

I think Jaylins problem is he doesn’t play aggressive enough to look to score. He a lot of times disappeared but it’s possible he doesn’t well coming off the bench and he wasn’t going to play much behind Jabari.

Pearl would still play him at the 4 but build around him. It’s just a matter if he can play all season like he did last night.

if bruce was talking about building the team around jaylin i might go ahead and put Walker Kessler in the going pro part

He has to recruit Jaylin to stay out of the portal.

Kessler decision is based on NBA feedback not what he perceives his role to be

The biggest thing we need in the off-season is development.

Development of Cambridge, Cardwell, J Will, Green, and KD.

If they don’t develop it doesn’t matter who we bring in from the portal.

Agreed. Although I have pretty much given up on Cambridge. I don't think he has much potential.

Agree.

And when Pearl said that about build his team around Jaylin I don’t think he meant it as Jaylin at center but at PF in his offense like he did Jabari. U can’t build an offense around a center much when teams are just going to do what Miami did and just forced Kessler to have to come out an guard their Center.

While I agree the team needs to continue developing our current players we HAVE to bring in better shooters and some taller guards.

If u look at Greene’s and KDs shooting % from where they came from they still don’t shoot well enough to get close to 40%.
I don’t see them getting better with now 2 years of data.

We finished weak this year bc of their poor shooting and they had trouble protecting the ball.

Can we just bring in players who are great with potential to develop into elite?

Hypothetical Transfer Targets I think would be fun to speculate on

Ball St - Jaylin Sellers - FR->SO 6'4 SG/SF , 60.9% 2FG 43.4% 3FG in small role, From Columbus GA

UMBC Keondre Kennedy SR 6'6 SG/SF , 58.2% 2FG 42.1% 3FG, rebounds and can pass effectively, from ATL GA

All I want to say is

Tevin Brown

Tevin Brown

Tevin Brown

Tevin Brown

Tevin Brown

Tevin Brown

Cambridge and Chris Moore can just go ahead and transfer - they are unwanted baggage at this point. No idea what to think of Akinbola since he didn’t play any. We will need a couple of elite transfers in order to be competitive next year. The current roster won’t cut it. Green, Johnson and Zep need to hit the gym every morning and not leave until they each take 500 practice 3s.
