His rating is definitely in spite of his height, weight, and overall composition His film is dominant. I know he’s in a pretty rural area and I’m guessing his competition is weaker than average but he’s making it look easy despite not being 6’7 325.

I love it

I have. Reserving judgement on that though.

He seems like a kid that could really explode when he gets to college. He definitely seems to have some very natura strength while not being in that great of shape aesthetically speaking at least.

I’m not doubting just asking the question.

My bad

I think you will see that rating climb this fall. Will probably need to bulk up some at next level but he's insanely quick, outstanding hands and is a nasty route runner. I think he could play that 9 spot in Gus's offense (Darius Slayton) and give AU another vertical threat. My understanding is AU looks good early but it's early. Clemson is understandably swinging for the fences so they might not have room for him, not really sure what UGA or BAMA are doing just yet at WR

What happens with EJ Williams and Evans will be interesting. Both Clemson & UGA giving Williams a hard look but is he a take? Same for Evans. My guess is Williams goes out of state & Evans stays instate

Do we even want him? He's ranked high but most stuff I read on here is not flattering toward his play or his character.

I won't speak to character cuz I've never met the kid but I think he's a tad overrated at the moment

With that said, he's got tremendous upside. He's type of kid that needs 2 or so years to develop which is the type of QB prospect AU should sign this cycle

Took a first pass at top targets. Far from a complete list. No idea priorities at DB recruiting which is why so few names. Expect to update this after next month & there are more visitors

I defended Pickens to the end on this last cycle because he participated minimally in recruitment media but he had the most narrative around him the whole cycle. He added to that by wearing gear from multiple schools at each big event but the bottom line was that he just wanted to play football and move on. Ashford is much of the same.

He’s going to give minimal media interaction and people are going to think whatever they want about him. Ashford, like most kids, is probably pretty decent. But we’ll paint whatever picture we want of them and IMO we should be ashamed of doing so. If you don’t know the guy personally then it’s pretty trashy to shite on them or allude to character issues. There’s people on these sites that talk about recruits in greater detail than I’d describe a friend. Pretty creepy and fricked up all at the same time

He's no Chad Jackson, that's for sure. He's not even a Cornelius Williams. He's more like a Kerry Murphy IMO

Is he still doing personal training?

Good guy. I was in middle school when he was at Hoover and he always had a little extra time for the guys around my age who idolized him. He lived in my friends neighborhood and I can remember one time he came outside to throw the ball to a group of us who were playing Jeapordy. For me at the time it might as well have been Jerry Rice. It was cool.

What a waste of talent...for the coaches, staff, and everyone involved in TRYING to get this kid's head right, they are the ones who deserve to be given credit for trying. Him....meh.....

I would argue its 100% on the coaches. Ashley should have seen more time last year.. He could have easily started at RT or RG. When he actually played he was one of our best lineman imo. If I was Gus, Grimes would have been gone a long time ago.

Apparently 4* RB Tank Bigsby has hit it off with Caddy. Told KN likes fact Caddy has experience doing what he wants to do. Said Caddy a serious dude who is about his business. Loves atmosphere at AU & likes fact the coaching staff is real. Right now plans to use OVs to AU, BAMA, UGA & SCAR

Also not a shock but UGA is apparently coming hard after 4* WR Kobe Hudson. Hudson says along as Gus is at AU he's solid

But we'll see how he feels when that bigger UGA check arrives. Damnit bagmen get it together

Super random but been catching up on 2020 class so I can fake like I know what I'm talking about for all of AU's offers...

Dual threat QB offers have been weak... I'm not in love with Ashford but he's better than some of those other guys. However, right now dude I want is Haynes King. Super quick with a nice arm. LSU recently offered. Pretty sure he's visited before but could be wrong

Highlights

Really wish we could flip Jack Miller from OHST. Dude is a beast....
