Notes from the Callaway vs Opelika game:
- Opelika won 10-7
- Tank had 139 yards and 1TD, 25 yards were on 2 catches
- 3 fumbles. Sounds like one was on the QB
- Tate Johnson played RT
Sounds like Tank is in for a long season. Offense played mostly out of the I-formation and Tate Johnson is the only returning OL (queue jokes about Auburn’s 2020 OL ). He may also be the only offense they have. Opelika stacked the box the whole game

Tate is occasionally using the Caps lock key while bitching about AHSAA officials on twitter.

Trenton Simpson maintains he’s not taking any other visits but Auburn. Wants to visit Auburn once or twice this fall.

Didn't realize Simpson also played RB. Busted like an 80 yard TD.

I think Steiner also plays RB.
It may be lost on us but those guys are elite athletes as well as positional players

Georgia DT commit will OV to Auburn
quote:
It may be a long shot, but a long shot is better than no shot.
Per Twitter, 4-star Georgia defensive tackle commit Nazir Stackhouse of Decatur (Ga.) Columbia said this weekend he plans to officially visit Auburn. Alabama, Georgia Tech and Tennessee also will get officials, along with the Bulldogs.
Stackhouse, the No. 24 tackle and No. 277 overall recruit nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite, committed to Georgia on Dec. 2, 2017, but he has continued to flirt with other programs, Auburn among them.
Stackhouse has made three known visits to see the Tigers this year alone.
That said, at last check sources told us Auburn's optimism wasn't high at the moment. Can Auburn change his mind? We'll see.
Here's what we wrote about Stackhouse in early July ...
***
After making a trip to Auburn in June, Nazir Stackhouse noted he had visited the Tigers more than Georgia this year. What made that interesting, of course, is that Stackhouse, a 4-star defensive tackle from Decatur (Ga.) Columbia, is a longtime Bulldogs commit.
At that time, he said this about his recruitment: “One hundred percent (committed), but Auburn is right around the corner. Auburn is actually my next one. People always ask, ‘What would make you switch over or de-commit?’ And I’m like, ‘if Kirby Smart leaves, Auburn is my next option.’
If he doesn’t leave, it’s up to them. A lot of people think while I’m there, maybe it wouldn’t work out.
And if it doesn’t, Auburn is my second decision and I’d feel real comfortable coming to Auburn. I mean that from the bottom of my heart because of the coaches.”
On Sunday, Auburn Undercover again caught up with Stackhouse, this time during check-in day for The Opening finals. But while he continued to praise the Tigers, Stackhouse made it sound like the chances of them flipping him now were even harder. That's because a new team is now in the No. 2 spot -- Alabama.
According to Stackhouse, the Tide is second behind Georgia with Auburn now third. Additionally, he said Alabama was recruiting him the hardest, but he did add Auburn was next in that category.
The bottom line, though, is this: Auburn has its work cut out to land the No. 23 tackle nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite.
