That leaves Chandler Wooten, KJ Britt, and Michael Harris (who is undersized and almost got kicked off the team once).

Pappoe coming in undersized but he'll have to play immediately. We need some big pluggers

Zakoby McClain, Marsh, Hall could play LB and I'm sure if we got in trouble depth wise we could play Moultry or Jubinor there too.. And we usually only play 2 anyway.

Possibly would have been a Buck. We have 2 in the class with Wooden & Hall. The bigger mystery to me is why did we not recruit in state LB Vonta Bentley or some of the other seemingly solid in state LBs.

Legit question. Outside of Pappoe & Wooden it looks like not much this class.

Seems like he went for nothing but homeruns this year. Connected with Pappoe but whiffed on the rest.

Depth chart:

Buck: Bryant (Jr), Moultry (JR), Jibunor (SO), Hall/ Wooden (Fr)
LB: Britt (Jr), Wooten (Jr), Marsh, Harris, McClain (SO/rsFr), Pappoe (Fr)

LB has 6 guys for 2 spots on the field. Buck has 4 or 5 guys for one spot on the field. They’re all 4*+ players. I said this a few weeks ago but I really don’t think this second LB matters all that much in this class

Then you need to include the star position. We are not running a 3-3-5. We run a 4-3 really. You want 7 in the box again at the run.

Based on personnel actually on the field we run more of a 4-2-5

I could see AU using more 3 LB sets with Pappoe next year at the SAM but typically AU has only 2 LBs on the field now & 5 DBs

Apparently two big time LB targets on campus today for 2020 class. 4*s Phillip Webb and Cameron Riley

Evening notes from KN

- Spoke with a fellow 247 reporter Allen Trieu who is apparently well connected to 3* OT Ira Henry's recruitment. Trieu says AU has a VERY realistic shot in this race and that its a close top 4 of AU/UF/FSU/ISU. He thinks that UF's large OL class might be a negative for them and KN seems to think this race might end up AU vs FSU due to both school's needs at that position

- AU has apparently reached out to 3* OT Cam'Ron Johnson who is a former Colorado commit officially visiting the Buffaloes this weekend. Johnson says AU has not yet offered but has started talking to him. They plan to visit him this week. My personal guess is they wanna see how Henry's visit goes & if they aren't confident in that race try to get Johnson on campus this weekend

- 2020 4* LB Phillip Webb is a MAJOR target for AU & KN thinks right now this is turning into an AU/CLEM battle. He's visiting this weekend. Interesting note, he's teammates with Kameron Brown who is on an official this weekend & will probably commit soon

- 4* RB Mark-Antony Richards is currently on an OV to UGA but told KN that he thinks Dillingham has a "high motor"

No idea. AU hasn't offered Johnson yet but that could change if they visit him this weekend. If they feel good about Henry then they might stick with him & Osborne at OT this class. I'm gonna assume AU is getting a grad transfer to start at OT next season with Troxell unless whatever is going on with Ashley is settled or Sammons has the switch flip, neither seem likely right now

Jalen Henderson, a RB from Spain Park just committed. KN says he will be a preferred walk-on

Auburn is hosting Arizona State grad transfer Jay Jay Wilson. He played LB and TE at ASU. Auburn wants him at HB

Jay Jay Wilson will transfer to Auburn to be our next HB. Former 4* ATH out of HS and TE at ASU, he has good hands and will be a threat out of backfield
