What makes zero sense is not calling up him up after we gained the extra year. Our team is better with Acuna in the lineup and we should be trying to put the best team on the field.

Its arbitrary, but lets just say that the Braves call up Acuna now when he is hitting .220 or whatever it is. Well, that would be obvious that they were just holding him down for the service time issue, and there could possibly be grounds for a grievance, and since we are the Braves, we would lose it, and lose half our prospects.

Its safer to let him stay down a few more days, or a week and let him get a few hits to show he is "hot and ready" for the majors.

Does he give us a better shot at winning than the other guys? Yes, but AA is playing it safe after the shite storm that the organization went through this offseason.

If he's not up by this weekend, then they have another long 3 city roadtrip. I'm curious if they'll want to wait until they are back home so that he can stay in a routine or if they would throw him into the fire of a long roadtrip (assuming he starts hitting in AAA).

He's now at .139, 5/36 in AAA. That's quite abysmal no matter how you look at it. There's no way they bring him up in a slump like that.

That's a small arse sample

We don't really think he "needs" more time because he is struggling.

Is he ready if he gets his average up to .200, .250, goes 3-4 one night, or hits a couple homers? The whole thing is just silly.

Didn't say it was huge, I said he was in a slump. Is it better for him get out of it in AAA or the big show?

It's better to get him in our major league lineup ASAP.

I don't even think I'd call the first 8 games a slump. It's a slow start I guess.

I'm looking at it another way. I'm considering it extended spring training to knock the rust off after that gap of time between spring training and the start of their season.

Otherwise yes, it's stupid. People bitched for a second when the Cubs immediately brought up Kris Bryant after they gained the extra year of control, and once he started dominating no one said anything else. I think the Braves can handle the mild criticism that will come their way if they were to immediately bring him up regardless of performance.

I just don't get why people are so terrified of further delay.

He's 20 years old, and he moved through the system very quickly. Wanting him to get back to exerting dominance at AAA isn't strange, IMO. Particularly when until now, we were getting great production at his position.

lol, i'm confident that no one is terrified.

in general, people got amped up about him being up sooner rather than later and now they are having to play the waiting game.

The Braves have been quite impressive so far in this short season. Why bring him up? Let him simmer a bit down in AAA. I think the Braves are +27 in run differential (which is like 3rd best in the majors right now) so our offense isn't the issue.

Blowing a damn 10-2 game was a problem and could easily have us sitting quietly at 10-5. Instead, 9-6.

I definitely agree. I think I said before, but my personal motivation for wanting him up was just to be able to witness it in person. One of my top all time moments at a Braves game was seeing Heyward's debut.

DOB's old crotchety arse went on a quote tweet tirade yesterday. I wish he would stop doing that shite. I don't need to see his response to every Braves fan's complaint.

DOB is a jackass and I stopped reading his Twitter a while ago. I also have no desire to use his commenters as a gauge on the pulse of the braves fanbase.

I want to see Folty cut down on his pitch count. He pitches like he has to strike everyone out and is often at 90 pitches through 4 innings. I would love to see a solid 6 inning start at about 85-90 pitches

Yeah he put the Braves on top his hit brought Ender home. 1 nothing, Folty's only pitched 2 innings but so far shutting them out with 3 strikeouts... hope he keeps it going!

Acuna blasted a big dong tonight. I really don't think AA wants him up anytime soon, so if he gets on a little roll I'll be interested to see what the next excuse is. Probably some combination of the team winning, the OFers playing well, and wanting to make sure Acuna plays everyday.
