That's Gen Z baw. Half of millennials are in their 30s now.

Eh depends on where you cut it off. I personally think millenials are anyone born from 1984-1999, so it's possible for someone to be 19 and a millennial.

Nah man the number of people/campuses that literaly want safe spaces is easily less than 100,000 people.

How different is the experience of the average person born in 1984 from the average person born in 1999?

The world changes so quickly now that the idea of a relatively monolithic generation spanning more than a handful of years is outdated.

Extremly. I agree completely. The reaaon why generations are generally 15 to 18 years in length as that's about when the first kids start getting pregenant but nowadays people born in 2000 and 2005 have a ton of different childhood experiences vs 1970 to 1975 the average kid had more or less a similar enviornment. The difference between someone born in 1996 & 1999 is more than you would think as well. Those born in 96 probably remember 9/11 and dial-up those born in 99 likely do not.

So, we began a thread contemplating the frustration of "Where da hell is our new Coach" and ended it with, "Whose generation sucks the most"

Damn, only on da Arkansas Rant...

This is the point I bring up too. The millennial generation covers too much of a time period to generically slot everyone into a certain type of upbringing.

I grew up with the Super Nintendo, putting the TV on channel 3 to play games, ESPN on channel 6, cassette and VHS tapes. Home computers weren't widespread and internet was garbage. Playing outside with friends was still the primary source of entertainment. No one had cellphones so we were home by the time the street lights came on. By the time kids were getting cellphones I was 14-15 and I got a little Motorola brick with a limited data plan that could text, call, and play snake. That's about it.

Compare that to the other millennials that were born in 98-99 who had the iPod by the time they were 2, the massive upswing in internet usage, including the existence of things like Napster and online multiplayer gaming. TV services with 1000 channels, and the true startup of instant-gratification society. The upbringings really aren't even comparable. Early 90s and late 90s-early 00s are nothing alike.

But from my experience, most people that use the term Millennial aren't even referring to this time period of people. The vast majority of the time they're referring to Gen Z. and the "true" iPod generation.

Your talk of cellphone led me to some memories- I remember the day I got the Internet. I was probably 23-24ish and at that point, no one I knew had it and I would say with a decent amount of certainty that I was in the first 20 people in my town to get it. And all I knew about the Internet were phrases like ‘you can do anything on the internet’ ‘its got everything’ and many of y’all dont understand but just imagine not knowing what the net was at all and hearing that, I was both intrigued and completely clueless what that meant. Times, they have a changed...

Talkin bout my generation...

Oh and I do not think that this search is taking too long.

But it does appear as though KS has told us no. Now whether or not we are slow playing EM and others while hoping to make an offer to Beard is possible. But with our history.... UNLIKELY.

EM is probably holding out for an offer from LSU. Also TCU and Virginia Tech are now open.

Marshall may be about as good as we can get at this point. Thats part of what makes all of this fun.

What is more likely that Mussleman is waiting for LSU to open up OR that we are waiting for Beard ?

I remember back when we had to know how to read maps.

These days people will send you a screen shot of their current location on Google Maps so you can just navigate by computer to the intersection of Maple and Garland when you're meeting up to go to a game instead of just saying, "hey, I'm at the top of the damn hill."

That's a true story and I damn near gave up on cellphones over that shite.

Technology is making us dumb and lazy.
