Seriously..... look at the replies to this tweet:

SEC West Co-Champions

Bama fans have no problem claiming 100 fictional national titles.

Ole Miss fans have no problem claiming a SEC West Co-Champ in football.

We claim our rightful share of the SEC-West and our fans go batchit crazy. I've actually seen fans root for us to lose just so they can say "I told you so." Most fans argue for your team to get a national seed. We have a large group who are telling people we are overrated and don't deserve one.

It's the same crap with the fans who say we have a fake national title from 1964.

So.... why do our fans deserve anything?

Eh, probably more frustration than anything. People I know who hardly followed baseball but are Hog fans even bit into the hype of this team and followed.

We let an outright title slip away, combined with the previous road woes, and people vent on social media.

That is not specific to us.

I've never seen another fan base tell a respected baseball media member that their team is not deserving to host....... ever. It's usually the exact opposite.

You reaffirmed my position. Why would a fan base who "hardly follows baseball" deserve anything?

It's a legit question. Why would anyone think that they are deserving of anything when they don't put forth the time, effort, or money? If you gave baseball a passing glance prior to the hype then you should simply move on and don't expend any emotion.

For example - I don't care about our tennis teams. Them getting preseason hype wouldn't cause me to throw a fit if they were having road woes but still remained a top 10 team. I'll be happen if they won but if they lose I shrug.

Road woes would mean losing a couple series that you shouldn't.

DVH has shown an ineptness on the road this year losing all the series.

That isn't woes, that is embarrassment. Winning a single series on the road would mean winning the west, a 2 seed in the sect, and show that they deserve to host in the ncaas. Win a couple more and we are talking a 1 seed in the sect a sec championship, and leaving little doubt they deserve to host.

Instead we have apologists who blame the players, blame the weather, blame the lineup, blame the location of the game, blame the start time, blame everyone but the man responsible for the 0fer on the road this year.

Not that I can blame them they are only following the lead of the man they worship who blamed the weather for the less than expected attendance numbers at home this year, the man who always has a reason why it wasn't his fault the team lost, a man worse than Nutt when it comes to throwing others under the bus.

All this bitching over a team that hasn't dropped out of the top 10 in the nation all season and is probably looking at hosting all the way through Supers which would mean road woes don't mean a damn thing straight to Omaha. How about we actually play the postseason before acting like idiots? Jesus.

Proof that we don't:

Polls don't matter.

The team hasn't earned the right to host supers by going 0fer on the season series on the road.

You're basically saying the team only has a shot at advancing in the tourney if they play at home would this team advance if they played at any other host site in the south, their resume says they would not. So they have left their post season chances in the hands of the committee instead of earning the right to host on the field.

This in year 16. Sad. Very sad.

Your opinion matters less than polls.

RPI
SOS
Conference Record

all matter as much as road record

We finished the season with a 15-6 record vs. top 25 RPI teams.

Yeah, this team is all about the postseason performance.

At the end of the day who gives a frick about regular season achievements?

Hosting does. Coming into this series with UGA we were projected as the #3 and #4 overall seeds in two different projections. So according to the people that follow the sport for a living, they have earned the right to host supers. You being a massive count over everything Arkansas baseball related doesn't change that fact.

Bitching and moaning over the baseball program over all others is just full fricking retard. We've had mediocre seasons and gone into regionals as 2 seeds and gone on to win both regional and super regionals as the away team at tough environments to make it to Omaha. People complaining have the memories of goldfish.

And had a 29-3 record at Baum, which is where we're going to be playing the majority of the postseason. Being upset over this team is ridiculous.

Hell, half of our fanbase didn't even know about the baseball team until they received preseason hype. Ask one of these "deserving" fans who our pitching coach is and you'll get a blank stare.

There was a segment on Bo’s show where Frank Ragnow went around to people outside of Baum Stadium and asked questions like “how do you think Dan Enos is doing with the pitchers this year?” And “Ty Storey is doing a great job at first base isn’t he?”

Maybe 15% actually knew better

That is awesome.

I think that would be pretty typical of any fanbase though. Most folks don’t follow the programs as closely as the message board crowd.

Not sports related but, on a similar note, I worked at a liquor store in college and we got bored one night and started doing a poll of all our customers. We asked them to answer two questions. They were how many states are there in the US and who won the civil war. The top answers were 52 and “we did.” The sad part about that exercise was that a large portion of our customers were students.

Jesus, no wonder he disappeared. He was a high recruit and looked good for a true frosh this year, big time stuff.

And for it to end that way, something popped off. DVH is always good for a big transfer here and there.
