His camp even leaked that they were “leaning Nebraska last week,” probably to entice an offer from them.

If I were a betting man, I'd say you're right.

Pittman took him back because we needed bodies at the position behind KJ once Coley transferred out.
It's also why they took Fortin as a walk-on transfer last year with the Renfro injury.
We go into to spring ball with KJ, Criswell and Singleton on scholarship plus Fortin and some other walk-ons as Renfro rehabs his second torn ACL like Dominique.

I mean, he seemed like a great get at the time. Four star, #8 dual threat QB and #201 overall player in the country according to 247. Offers from tons of major teams.
At the end of the day, he never developed as a passer. It be like that sometimes.
