Forgot he played that game. He also played against Bama that year until he got mono. That had to have been the toughest 3 week stretch for any team in the country that season. Since the game with Texas got hurricaned out, we got to play Texas, Bama, and Florida in consecutive weeks. All 3 were top 10 teams.

And that's what makes it so much fun to be a Razorback. We're never given a chance to do anything, or be successful much less competitive. Others can claim strength of schedule and blah blah blah but by gosh add in the BCS team we play OOC too on top of the conference slate and we're treated to some hell of a good ballgames. Sometimes we take it on the chin, other times we're dishing out punishment, but I'd have it no other way.

As Coach B. said... They've got to play us too.

Did we ever find out why he was suspended last year?

Anyone see BMitch's interview on pig trail? Dude sounded bitter as hell. Basically said he was pissed that he wasn't given the job because he was a senior.

He didn't seem like he cared for Bielema too much. He feels that he didn't get the job because he's a senior, but the reality is, he just isn't as good as Allen overall. He has some great skills, but his decision making skills and accuracy need some serious work. I wish him luck wherever he goes.

Didn't see it, but my initial reaction to his leaving was "well, shouldn't have thrown those redzone picks and not alienated the team doing stupid stuff to get into hot water with the NCAA."

BMitch came off pretty sour last night. You've been in the program for 5 years and haven't gotten close to starting.

Even a season ago, the inept staff gave all 2nd QB reps to Allen. It has nothing to do with not getting a fair shake. It has all to do with Mithcell not being as good as Allen and now crying about it.

Btw, that interview was probably the worst thing for him to do IMO. The fans are glad you like them, but the fans aren't thrilled with you tryi g to throw the new regime under the bus on your way out the door.

Mitchell was a better basketball player, he would have been better of going that route out of HS.

He has forgotten about his lack of offers in FB and no one other than the stache and Petrino saw him as a SEC QB...

I liked his "I can be a NFL QB because Petrino offered me out of HS." logic.

What was the name of the QB after him?

He could have went to Utah, I think he is at UCA now, didn't take him 5 years to see the writing on the wall.

Petrino has been obsessed with the "dual-threat" QB since he didn't get to coach Vick in the NFL, had it not been for Mallett coming back and Wilson being in Greenwood, he probably would have had a QB like Mitchell every year after Dick graduated.

While have a mobile QB has its advantages, he should remember that Petrino installed "packages" in the offense just for him that were rarely if ever used in a game, if he was effective, they would have been used every game to fill the needs of his QB fetish...

Are your forgetting he had 2 older, future NFL QB's ahead of him?

No, in fact I mentioned it above.

Every year after BM's redshirt year, we heard the same two things all summer leading into the first game, an "improved defense" and the Brandon Mitchell package, neither ever became a reality...

Just for flaming LSU fans, is BM indicative of the Louisiana athlete or just another hack that couldn't/wouldn't get it together between the earholes to be a starter in this league?

Still haven't watched the video, but generally those sour grapes interviews aren't wise. The facebook post was classy but it sounds like the interview contradicted those sentiments.

It's career suicide to sit Ryan Mallett and/or Tyler Wilson for an unproven Brandon Mitchell, IMO. Even if just for one or two plays here and there...especially in the SEC.

jacoby walker. i was real real stoked on this guy. he had a huge spring game (got hurt maybe?) and i was smitten. youre right though, he saw the situation and looked for PT.

just watched the interview. pretty lame. definitely couldve taken a higher road.

im sure he had bobby's silent blessing, all building to this year, but he still had plenty of chances to make it on his own merit. dont blame him for leaving, but him not being no1 is on him, not the coaches. never heard him own up to that.

Derek Ruskin and Tommy Craft have an interview coming up on the Morning Rush with Bielema @ 7:45 for anyone interested. They hinted that pretty much Mitchell was already exploring options before having his one on one with Bielema. He mentioned it to coach and coach said go for it but put it out there for everyone to know so that you get the most exposure.
