Several Arkansas commitments saw movement in the latest Top247 rankings, which were released on Monday. Overall, the Razorbacks sit at No. 12 in the nation according to the Composite rankings but are still No. 7 in the nation per 247Sports.

The best news for Hog recruiting fans is that running back Isaiah Augustave of Naples (Fla.) went from unranked all the way to four-star status and No. 190 in the nation. Augustave committed to the Razorbacks on June 7 and impressed during the camp circuit this summer. His player grade went from 89 to a 92 this time around.

Newly-committed wide receiver Micah Tease of Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington saw a nice jump from No. 135 to No. 119, becoming Arkansas' highest-rated commitment according to 247Sports. Tease, who chose the Hogs on July 4, went from a 92 to a 93 player rating in the updated rankings.

Another recent pledge also saw a significant jump as four-star cornerback Jaylon Braxton of Frisco (Texas) Lone Star went from No. 211 to No. 146 in the country. Braxton jumped on board with Sam Pittman's program on July 9. He goes from a 91 to a 92 this time around.

Two of Arkansas' three four-star tight end commitments also moved in the latest round of rankings. Shamar Easter of Ashdown (Ark.) went from No. 151 to No. 150, while Luke Hasz of Bixby (Okla.) fell from No. 87 to No. 158. Hasz's player grade fell from 93 to 92.

Arkansas' quarterback commitment, Malachi Singleton of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb, went from No. 203 down to No. 234 in the nation in Monday's rankings.

Other Razorback targets in the latest Top247 rankings include Garland (Texas) Naaman Forest two-way lineman Markis Deal, who goes from No. 57 to No. 58.

Dylan Hasz given 85 grade 3-star on 247

quote:

DYLAN HASZ, 2023 S - ARKANSAS COMMIT
Arkansas may have gotten itself a sneaky good developmental prospect in Bixby (Okla.) standout Dylan Hasz, a three-phase player for one of the top programs in the state of Oklahoma. Primarily a safety and punt returner as a sophomore in 2020, Hasz saw his offensive snaps increase in 2021, when Bixby won its fourth consecutive Oklahoma Class 6A-II state championship, outscoring three postseason opponents 189-27.

Hasz, listed at 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, registered 32 offensive touches for 221 yards and four touchdowns, adding an impressive 15.3 yards per punt return and one punt return TD. He also registered almost 30 tackles at safety, regularly crashing downhill with arriving impact beyond his listed size. Hasz has also competed in track and field, and while the majority of his 100-meter times sit in the 11.5 to 11.7 range, he ripped one 11.14 this past spring. Hasz debuts as a three-star 85 at safety on 247Sports with an encouraging on-field profile and desired multi-sport context.

We already have our QB, I figure Collins is going to LSU since the Tigers have missed on all the top QBs they wanted.

Nothing but crickets in here the past 2 weeks...
Are we pretty much done, except holding a spot or two for last minute decisions or transfers?

Unless someone decommits the staff is focused on fall camp and preparing for the season.

I'm sure they are, but recruiting never completely stops except (supposedly) during dead periods.
I see kids committing to other schools on the recruiting board during this practice/preparation time.
Not panicking or anything, just wondering if we are done.

Vysen Lang and Markis Deal are the only ones out there I've seen us linked to, but supposedly Deal wants a big payday. Neither one are committing until later in the Fall I don't think.

Arkansas Targets in Updated Top247 for 2024

quote:

Getting the bad news out of the way first, the Razorbacks did see their only 2024 commitment, running back Braylen Russell, fall out of the Top247 after previously holding the final spot in April's list. Other Arkansas targets who fell from the Top247 include safety Ka'Davion Dotson, who has visited multiple times, and quarterback Josh Flowers, who added an offer in May and visited a couple of weeks later.

quote:

12. KingJoseph Edwards | E | Buford (Ga.) - Two-way standout attended Arkansas' win over Mississippi State last November.

14. Ryan Wingo | WR | St. Louis (Mo.) University - Has visited Fayetteville several times, both as a recruit and to watch older brother Ronnie.

16. Kobe Black | CB | Waco (Texas) Connally - Was just on Arkansas' campus for the end of July cookout.

28. Tylen Singleton | ATH | Many (La.) - Made an unofficial trip to the Hill in March; up 7 spots from his April ranking.

44. DJ Lagway | QB | Willis (Texas) - Has made multiple stops in Fayetteville and could be back at some point this fall.

45. Xavier Filsaime | CB | McKinney (Texas) - Flips from WR to CB and rises 37 spots in the rankings; was scheduled to visit in June.

46. Williams Nwaneri | DL | Lee's Summit (Mo.) North - Enjoyed an unofficial visit in Fayetteville earlier this spring; up 144(!) spots.

51. Colin Simmons | E | Duncanville (Texas) - Was in town for a big prospect day in early March.

58. Xadavien Sims | DL | Durant (Okla.) - Took part in one of Arkansas' camps in the summer of 2021.

78. Daniel Calhoun | OL | Roswell (Ga.) Centennial - Already considered one of the Hogs' most wanted in 2024.

121. Demond Williams Jr. | QB | Chandler (Ariz.) Basha - Camped at Arkansas in June and is looking for a game to attend this season.

128. Michael Smith | TE | Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day - Visited once and is expected back this fall.

137. Dae'vonn Hall | WR | Bellevue (Neb.) - Received an offer from the Razorbacks on June 12.

141. Michael Hawkins | QB | Allen (Texas) - Made a pair of stops in Fayetteville this summer and is definitely one to watch.

151. Christian Bentancur | TE | Woodstock (Ill.) Marian Central Catholic - Another highly-regarded tight end who visited this summer.

158. Walker White | QB | Little Rock (Ark.) Christian - Instate target is one of a few strong candidates to be Hogs' QB in 2024.

170. Payton Pierce | LB | Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy - Has made multiple trips to see the Hogs, who are seen as a very strong contender.

180. Mario Craver | WR | Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville - Only Louisville beat Arkansas in offering Craver last November.

187. Grant Stec | TE | Algonquin (Ill.) Harry D. Jacobs - Received his Arkansas offer the day after Christmas in 2021.

217. Ronnie Royal | ATH | Gulf Shores (Ala.) - Was offered by Dominique Bowman in late June.

225. JacQawn McRoy | OL | Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville - Offered by the Hogs following a visit in June.

228. Corian Gipson | S | Lancaster (Texas) - Made it to a prospect day in Fayetteville in late January.

231. Aneyas Williams | RB | Hannibal (Mo.) - One of Arkansas' most recent running back offers.

234. Kavion Henderson | DL | Leeds (Ala.) - Has visited the Hogs twice; tons of competition but Arkansas is still a player.

Five Arkansas commits were featured in the final preseason update to the Rivals250, which was released Tuesday morning.

With 23 commits now locked and loaded into Arkansas' 2023 recruiting class, Sam Pittman boasts a handful of Rivals250 prospects, matching the team's 2019 total. With two newcomers joining the prestigious list, let's take a look at just how far each commit shifted in its latest iteration.

The lone Arkansas native on this list, tight end commit Shamar Easter overtakes Luke Hasz as the Razorbacks' highest-rated commitment in the latest update.

Once ranked as the No. 60 player in the nation, Easter continues his gradual fall down four spots to No. 155 as his Ashdown Panthers look to build off of their 9-3 2021 season.

This iteration of the Rivals250 was harsher to no one than Razorback TE commit Luke Hasz, who fell 128 spots down to No. 206 - the largest drop on the list.

A commitment from his brother silenced rumors that Hasz was on flip-watch, and after rising as high as No. 39 in the nation Arkansas may now be landing one of the more underrated players in the country.

The newest of Arkansas' Rivals250 commits saw just a nine-spot drop in this most recent update as he held pat in the low 200s.

A model of consistency since cracking the numbered rankings in February, the Booker T. Washington (Okla.) four-star will have a chance to show Arkansas fans why his commitment was so important to receiver coach Kenny Guiton's 2023 cycle.

The first of two new additions to the club, Paris Patterson was a late addition to Arkansas' 2023 big board. After picking up his offer just weeks before his commitment, Cody Kennedy and his offensive line staff are seeing their scouting pay off on the national stage.

Last, but certainly not least is Frisco (Texas) Lone Star cornerback Jaylon Braxton. Falling in three spots behind Patterson at No. 238, Braxton's football IQ was on full display in his junior season film.

With both Braxton and Patterson jumping into the Rivals250 from the 5.8-four-star ranks, these were two names that weren't overly surprising to see earn national recognition.

WRIGHT: TJ METCALF

The state of Alabama is absolutely loaded in the 2023 class, and Metcalf is one of the headliners. Metcalf is a true free safety who can cover from sideline to sideline and come down the alley punishing running backs.

Taking on 6A Alabama offenses, Metcalf gets tested against quality competition. Another strong season roaming the field could see the Arkansas Razorback commit move up into four-star status.
