Georgia safety Jayden Johnson commits.

Johnson is listed as an athlete but is being recruited to Fayetteville as a safety. Arkansas defensive coordinator Barry Odom is considered the lead recruiter for Johnson, who is expected to sign in December and enroll in January.
With Johnson now on board, Arkansas' class now ranks No. 19 in the nation and No. 7 in the SEC, just ahead of the Auburn Tigers.

Jayden Johnson is a Razorback
quote:
Two days after de-committing from South Carolina and re-opening his recruitment, Cedartown (Ga.) athlete Jayden Johnson has committed to Arkansas.
The 6-foot-2, 196 pounder had the Razorbacks high on his list before committing to the Gamecocks in June, and Sam Pittman and the staff in Fayetteville never gave up. That effort paid off.
quote:
"The Arkansas coaches never slowed down how they recruited me, and even right after I committed, they continued to talk to me and recruit me," said Johnson. "That played a role in my decision. It was really pretty easy for me.
"Coach Carter, coach Odom and coach Pittman all recruited me all the way to the end. They recruited me hard, they were consistent and what made the biggest difference was how comfortable they made me feel.
"I can be myself with them, and that is big for me. I feel really good about my decision."
quote:
Johnson is a versatile athlete, and could project at a few different positions, but the Razorbacks see him at free safety. Johnson sees a good fit.
"We run a similar defense as Arkansas, and they see me in a similar role. They like me at safety, then sometimes walk me down to the nickel position too. They play six defensive backs a lot, so I will have the opportunity to play too, so I am excited."
Although he was committed to South Carolina most of the season, he kept his eye on Arkansas. The Razorbacks have surprised many with their play this fall and Johnson is excited about the future.
"It has been a big change from last season," said Johnson. "Coach Pittman has done a great job and the team is playing great. The coaches will keep adding players, keep getting better, and we will start winning those close games.
"I really like how the team has played and the coaches have the team doing a lot better than last year. It will be great when I get there."

The recruiting folks actually respect Pittman as a recruiter.

Getting a lot of CBs for Jalen Williams

Yes please.
Also, looks like Billy Ferrell got his stuff together finally. They’ve got him as the #5 DT and he’s committed to Traylor and Lunney at UTSA. Good for him.

Man, I really believe we could use him ourselves. I saw him make some moves d-linemen aren't supposed to be able to make in high school. He has the potential to be really good.

The Razorbacks currently have two quarterbacks, a pair of running backs, three wide receivers, a tight end and three linemen committed for offense. On defense, they have one lineman, two linebackers and four defensive backs pledged. They also have an athlete who could play on either side of the ball and a kicker committed. The transfer is wide receiver Jaquayln Crawford a wide receiver from Oklahoma.
Arkansas is still hoping to land Atlanta (Ga.) Tri-Cities defensive tackle Cameron Ball, 6-5, 301, and Jones College (Miss.) defensive tackle Jalen Williams, 6-3, 305. The Hogs are also on a few recruits committed elsewhere including one pledged to an SEC school. Ball will enroll at his new school in summer and Williams is midterm.
quote:
It will be interesting if one of the transfers is former University of Georgia two-way lineman Netori Johnson, 6-4, 327. He recently entered the transfer portal. Johnson has ties to Arkansas through Pittman who signed him for the Bulldogs as well as Jimmy Smith who was his head coach at Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove. He would probably be an offensive lineman if he inked with the Hogs.

Nikki keeps mentioning Norwood but I think our last spots all go to 2 DL, OL and a transfer at key position.

Arkansas trying to flip Norwood
quote:
Arkansas is trying to flip Texas A&M commit Dreyden Norwood from Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside and there might be some mutual interest. When Norwood committed to Texas A&M in July, many were surprised by the decision because it looked like he’d stay in-state and play for the Razorbacks since they were his first offer.

Miami appears to lead for Garcia
quote:
The former USC commit who’s originally from California but finishing his senior season at Loganville (Ga.) Grayson had Miami and Florida State high on his list. With McKenzie Milton transferring to play for the Seminoles, who are also focused on a major 2022 QB, the Hurricanes have to like their chances. There is a rumor of one other team involved in Garcia’s recruitment, but the source is not giving up a name although some think it might be Arkansas.

The latest with Norwood as of last night/this morning news is he will sign with A&M.

Yes please on Garcia. Move Landon to TE, in that scenario.

Don't know how to link it, but it looks like Cameron Little just committed to us.
