Apparently Ware pulled a 180 on the staff, dropped an F bomb on a phone call and the staff was like "welp, see ya later".
If true, getting pretty tired of the NLR primadonnas tbh.
Nick Smith situation is also weird, Kentucky apparently not giving him a committable offer, then he announced their offer, which they don't like.
Will be interesting to see how that one plays out.
Not super worried about Ware, he's not crucial in our system and is easily replaceable in the portal.
Portal makes these losses significantly easier to manage. I'll take a seasoned/proven 6-8 vet with multiple skills over a frosh with "potential" any day of the week.

Get the sense with Smith that if it's not us it's either Kentucky, Alabama or a pro league.
Alabama would trigger me the most out of his options. Glad we're still getting a visit though, need to pull out all the stops.

Depending on who you listen to, Bama has a real shot and might be the favorite. Although it seems the consensus is Kentucky at this point.

This. Ill take 2-3 years of college experience over a 18 year old high school kid.

What is the sentiment here? Why is there so much negativity toward the university in that area?

Bagmen from other schools.

Weird to me Ware still has no crystal ball predictions

Good point, that is strange at this point

Nothing wrong with being upset or disappointed with Ware going elsewhere but some of the fans on twitter need to chill, doesn't help us in the long run.

Some poster on 247 is saying he went on the Oregon visit and fell in love so is just shutting it down now.

Alot of stuff coming out and hard to really know what the truth is
-losing assistants that built relationships with him hurt us (one being Crutchfield who moved to Oregon)
-always wanted to leave the state
-restrictions from covid leveled the playing field at certain points when we couldn't visit as often
No matter what it really was, seems like Muss tried his best to keep him here and it just wasn't going to happen.

Easy to do with a stack of cash in front him

Walsh needs to commit and ease the blow.

Was thinking the same thing but it appears now that he isn't as close to committing as once thought since he is coming out with a top 6 soonish

He's deciding before his season starts from what I understand. So got a couple months.
Without Crutchfield, Ware is likely at Texas or Alabama.

Yep but there was some thought that his next announcement was going to be his commitment. Not bad news but wish we had some positive news sooner rather than later.

Thats probably true, seems like there was alot of positive momentum towards Texas before Oregon was even a thing.
Never fun to lose two top 35 players from the state but not sure Muss could have really done more.

Where does Bama even come in here? He seems like even less of a fit system wise there than here?
