Houston is just as far from Lubbock as it is to Fayetteville. Both about 8 hrs.

So the whole Texas thing doesn't really hold water. I assume the coach aspect is huge, plus they're probably promising him the world and lead dog playing time, while Muss probably didn't promise anything.

Eh, there are still plenty of folks that want to stay in state even if its not that close but it was never one thing with him

With him committing, I wonder if that locks us up with the HS wing players.

Ford will play guard similar to Devo. With Derrian we have 1 guard and 2 wings in Dunning and Pinion.

Arkansas hosted a priority in-state recruit in Derrian Ford at the beginning of June. A little over a month after his official visit date, the four-star prospect has announced that he will be committing to Eric Musselman and the Razorbacks.

"The visit in Arkansas was my first and only official visit and it was amazing," Ford said on the Razorbacks men's basketball program in a previous interview. "Everything they do within their program is at NBA speed, so I learned how fast the college players move."

A 6-foot-3 combo guard out of Magnolia (Ark.) Ford chose Arkansas over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Kansas, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Texas Tech.

In Ford, the Razorbacks are getting a swole physical specimen of a lefty guard with a cut-up frame who has the body, speed, and agility of an elite wide receiver. First and foremost, Ford is tough and he is built as such. He can play with or without the ball in his hands on the offensive end and he has the lateral quickness and strength to be a devastating defender.

While penetrating, Ford plays a brand of bully ball at times that does not translate well but he projects as a high major complementary piece offensively that can be counted upon to do whatever is needed to help the Razorbacks program continue to be successful in the SEC.

With his commitment, Ford will join top 150 ranked small forwards Barry Dunning and Joseph Pinion in the Razorbacks 2022 recruiting class.

Don't know how reliable Pinto is, but he says Jordan Walsh wears a lot of Hog gear around town FWIW

Feels like Texas is going to be tough to fight off but Ware and Walsh would be a perfect way to seal up the class.

Yep, was just trying to refer to Ware.

I know other schools are pushing for him to but if he doesn't commit to Arkansas, feels like Texas.

landing Walsh will basically guarantee a top 10 class. Landing one of Smith or Ware on top of that will make it Top 5.

Someone pointed out on Twitter that Muss follows him which he basically doesn’t do unless you’re a current commit or a current or former player. That has to be a good sign.

It is really interesting to see the difference in ranking between ESPN and 247 regarding Walsh

ESPN- 12th in the nation, 5 star

247- 88th in the nation, 4 star
