I figure the biggest factor was that he didn't seem to get up and down the court very fast in the film that I watched.

While that may very well be true, and I suspected he may not be real mobile. But it's not like there wasn't player complete unproductive on the team from points, rebounding, etc., and at 7-3 should have been able to help on offensive rebounds at least.

I understand, but if he were playing for Mike, he wouldn't have gotten any PT. He's slow and soft. He would have just sat on the bench the whole time just like Ibby.

The ability for a 5 to pull the other 5 away from the rim can be incredibly valuable. There are many NBA teams that are trying to do that to create easier paths to the hoop as well as shooters from every position. I think that trend will continue in the future.

Big O did exactly this to Shaq of LSU. Was beautiful sight seeing Shaq soooo uncomfortable while out from under the basket. But he didnt have a choice. Miller was killing from outside, and once Shaq was out of the middle our guards ate their lunch.

Those 3 blocks a game over his last 3 games seems to indicate he could at least become a really solid rim protector. Doesn't seem like much of a rebounder though.

If that is the comparison, then soft is absolutely the correct term.
Is a 7'3" transfer who would have to sit out a year to be a role player off the bench in the future what the roster needs?
Big tall guys are essential if you are playing 1970's 15' and in basketball, but the trend since the three point line was added as been superior guards leading to tournament success with the game from the NBA down trending more towards a perimeter game.
From what I can recall about him and why he ended up at postclownzopoculpse at Cal is that he wasn't good at running the floor, again this is fine with a 1970s mentality of walk it up and possess the ball for as long as possible, but it is why any team who likes a more uptempo flow to the offense passed on him.

It wasn't O's ability to shoot the ball as much as it was Dale Brown's refusal to play zone, O just had to walk up the the court, stand five foot from the 3 point line at the top of the key and there is Shaq too far away to help defend the basket.
Stewart was a center who could shoot the three from NBA range, more often than not the shot was there whenever he wanted it because the opposing center wasn't going to go much past the free throw line extended to guard him.
Interesting theory, but now days teams will have guys 6-8"-6'10" who can not only guard tight in man to man scenarios against bigs like this, but every team will switch a screen that will allow an open look, or take away the drive with a quicker player on the switch, or just play zone.
We have a good core group of young guards, a true point guard, a true shooting guard, the roster needs a few forwards who can also handle the ball on the perimeter and coming up the court, IMO.

I find it interesting that Muss was recruiting all of these 4 and 5 star players, hard, to Nevada. Each one who has popped up on the radar for Arkansas stems from his prior relationship in recruiting them while at fricking Nevada.
On the surface all you really saw was him taking transfers to complete his roster, probably because he was at fricking Nevada and striking out on the guys he was recruiting from HS.
This is what I'm pleasantly surprised to see from him so far in contrast to Chad "high school legend" Morris who I thought would have the success immediately like Muss appears will have. I didn't realize that he wasn't recruiting to SMU above his perceived level of SMU until after he was hired.
I believe it says more about each man's confidence in themselves and fear of failure, Muss has none, he seems to have already known every successful person in the world has faced 10x the amount of failure in their lives.
