Won't get brought up as much but great to see that not only is this class coming in very talented but they appear to be even more talented in the class department.

2022 BIG MAN KELEL WARE JUST SCRATCHING THE SURFACE

quote:

Arkansas big man Kelel Ware from the class of 2022 has been catching the eyes of college coaches. For good reason.

Standing 6-foot-10 with a solid 210-pound frame and 7-foot-6 wingspan, Ware just turned 16 a little over a month ago and is coming off an impressive sophomore campaign where he averaged 13.2 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game.

A strong finisher around the rim who doesn't mind contact, Ware also has some skill to his game. He catches most everything thrown his way and shows soft touch on jump hooks and faceup jumpers. He likely would have been a big attraction for Team Thad this spring and summer.

Even without grassroots ball, Ware's recruitment is doing just fine. Arkansas, Texas A&M, TCU and Virginia Tech have all offered while Auburn, Baylor, Cincinnati, Illinois, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and many others are keeping close tabs.

Derrian Ford moves up one spot, Nick Smith drops down two, Joseph Pinion debuts at No.90 in the nation and Kelel Ware debuts at No.124. A very strong start for Arkansas's 2022 in-state hoopers.

38. CG Derrian Ford
46. PG Nick Smith
90. SF Joseph Pinion
124. C Kelel Ware

They must be lighting it up on the camp/AAU circuits the past couple of weeks.

Averaged 30 minutes per game and 10 ppg.
Definitely decent

Apparently not much of a shooter but is athletic and can jump out of the gym, rebound and throw down some massive dunks. Good defender too. My guess would be he backs up Moody/Jackson at the 3/4.

Now if Joe comes back we've got to decide who leaves between Chaney, Henderson and Iyiola. His skillset is probably closest to Henderson.

I mean, a 48 inch running vertical is okay I guess.

I would say Chaney. Henderson started finally getting playing time at the end of the season.

Be my guess as well if Joe were to come back, if for nothing other than his attitude and in Muss's dog house multiple times last season.

I don't expect Joe to return though at this point, late first rd projections most places.

Top 3 on IU's roster last year in most categories, wore #3 in the games Arkansas played the past couple seasons...

He can hit a 3, he has the ability, he isn't the one you want to be taking the 3 in crucial situations.

Where are you seeing this? The first 5 or so I looked at didn't have him in the 1st.

He has moved up some though

Before the Smith addition I thought it was learning back to his return but now this makes it more interesting. The longer we go without hearing about someone leaving the program, the more likely it seems that Joe is gone.
