Horton coming or not?

I actually thought it was offical he was going to Pitt but now that I'm going back to look for something. I'm only finding sources saying he will commit to Pitt. So to answer your question, I don't know.

Seems like he was leaning our way before the Jeff Borzello tweet.

Edit: Pitt Basketball reported it so looks like we don't get either.

Honestly I'm for not using the spot and putting it toward someone be it grad transfer or 2020 HS in this upcoming class.

I think Muss will have a much more traditional rotation and won't go 10-11 deep in games unless it's one-sided.

I'm good either way, Tyree would have cool because my daughter has been friends with him since elementary, but hopefully we can get an impact player with that spot in the future

Based on what he has said in the past, this seems like something he is very likely to do after missing on Horton.

I agree with my only exception getting more depth in the front court that can actually help us. Which at this point in the year is unlikely.

Released his top 5 yesterday and we were not in it. He wasn't one of our top focuses so it shouldn't be surprising.

Doesn't matter much but saw you had him listed in the 21 class and fairly certain he is the 20 class

20' Rondel Walker 247, will visit Arkansas on August 1st. Don't believe he has an offer yet. It is also unofficial so that is a good sign.

Coach Crutchfield has really been doing work in terms of getting guys to visit and take some serious interest in us from his old recruiting grounds. Hopefully it allows us to close on some guys in the near future.

Cleveland State transfer Rasheem Dunn looking to set official visit date to Arkansas

quote:

Cleveland State transfer Rasheem Dunn (6-2, 190, combo guard, Brooklyn, NY) said on Monday that he is working on setting up an official visit to Arkansas.

“I do plan to visit Arkansas,” Dunn said. “Hopefully we can get the dates settled. I’m on their timing, so when ever they get the dates settled in.”

quote:

Dunn never played at Cleveland State and would have been a fourth-year junior in 2019-20 after sitting out a redshirt-transfer season in ’18-19 following a two-year stint at St. Francis-Brooklyn of the Northeast Conference (NEC).

Dunn announced he was transferring on July 13, a day following the termintation of Dennis Felton as men’s head basketball coach at Cleveland State. He will seek an NCAA waiver for immediate playing eligibility in ’19-20, and should it be granted he will have two years to play two at his next stop.

As a sophomore at St. Francis in ’17-18, Dunn started 29 of 30 games, averaging 30.9 minutes, 15.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 stals while shooting 39.0% field goals (including 29.0% from 3) and 77.2% free throws. As a freshman in ’16-17, he started 11 of 30 games and averaged 29.9 minutes, 13.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 38.7% field goals (including 22.0% from 3) and 69.1% free throws.

Pretty much, step down for sure from Horton and Appleby.

His only real issue (and its a big one) is he is so inefficient. Not really sure he is worth the spot if we can save it for a good recruit next year but at least it looks like he could play this year and does add depth if nothing else.

Stetson Sophomore Abayomi Iyiola (6-9, 210, forward) just entered the portal. Sit 1 and Play 2.

Double-double threat but doesn't really stretch the floor like you would like in this system.

Arkansas' basketball staff has offered at least 16 prospects thus far for the Class of 2021. Twelve of them are found in the top 50 of the 247Sports Composite rankings, and one of them is already eyeing a trip to Fayetteville.

Four-star power forward Zach Clemence of Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep has owned an offer from the Hogs since late May and, according to his mother, will be giving Eric Musselman's program a closer look.

"Arkansas is a college Zachary will visit this year," his mother said in a message.

In addition to the Razorbacks, the 6-9, 210-pound forward also holds offers from Baylor, Oklahoma and TCU while receiving interest from Kansas, Texas and others. Clemence is originally from San Antonio.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Clemence is the No. 50 overall prospect, the No. 12 power forward, and the No. 3 overall player in the state of Nevada for the Class of 2021.

Seems like Ohio St is going to be our biggest competition in landing Moody. Oregon sneaking into the picture also worries me but it seems like a two team race as of right now.

UPDATE: Stetson sophomore-transfer Abayomi Iyiola @abosticall (6-9 F/C) told me he's heard from Arkansas and is wanting to visit "next week" ... Hogs make his final 5

At least it is someone with size to give us a little more depth but no transfer at this point is going to have a huge impact imo.

UPDATE: For 2nd time since early May, father of highly regarded '20 Arkansas offer Kyree Walker @kyreewalker1 says Hogs will "absolutely" get a visit, & decision on remaining c/o '20 or re-class to '19 might be made "next week"

Kind of moved on from Kyree after he was suspected to announce playing overseas but I guess he never did. Still feels like a long shot, especially after Kansas got heavily involved but that is a strong statement by his father.

Wouldn't it be crazy for him to reclassify to '19 and commit....a man can dream.
