Top Performers from @TheOpening St. Louis led by Alpha Dog Mookie Cooper. Other big-time performances included QBs JJ McCarthy and Jacolby Criswell, OL Tyler Elsbury, DL Joe Moore, DB TJ Rush and LB Malik Berry.

A four-star prospect in the 247Sports Top247 Player Rankings, Morrilton (Ark.) High signal-caller Jacolby Criswell earned an invite to the Elite 11 finals showcasing a powerful arm and compact release, and he was as good as anyone on the move in this setting. North Carolina, Miami and Alabama are a few of the schools Criswell has an eye on.

Looks likely to either go to UNC with former OleMiss OC or Miami with Enos and Jesse Stone at Quality Control/Offense.

Hopefully he doesn’t become Morris’ KeVaughn Allen. We could have easily had him but passed and now he’s blowing up.

I don’t know if he’s necessarily blowing up but a LOT of our offers have done well at the camps this spring.

I second this, and trust this staff's evals.

I was down on Crawford last year when I heard his name, and some others.

Now I see guys we are on hard are the top dogs of all of their camps. This staff knows wtf they are doing.

If criswell is a dominant player over Haynes king (btw a majority of all starting top NFL QBs are from TX or CA which is where are top 2 are from) I'll say they fricked up.

I'm sure Criswell is a good player but I dont really trust Dan Enos evaluations when it comes to recruiting. I mean the guy got us Cole Kelley and Daulton Hyatt, who both utterly sucked for the Hogs. This staff so far has shown to have a major eye for talent and evaluations. I will take a Haynes King, Shane Illingsworth, or Chandler Morris over Criswell all day if thats what the staff prefers.

Jonesboro (Ark.) linebacker/defensive end Jashaud Stewart put up one of the top five performances in the country when he participated in The Opening St. Louis Regional over the weekend.

quote:

Checking in at 6-1, 223 pounds, Stewart dropped a 4.61-second laser time in the 40-yard dash, he maneuvered the shuttle in 4.14 seconds and posted a 34.6-inch vertical leap. His 131.6 Opening rating is fifth nationally. He had the second-best performance out of any competitor at the event, with Lee's Summit (Mo.) North running back Keyon Mozee, 5-7, 172, putting up a mark of 137.1. None of the other players in the top 5 were taller than 5-10, nor were any of them over 200 pounds. Stewart was also the only defensive recruit in the top 13 in St. Louis, and only 19 competitors had a score of at least 100. No other defender scored over 101.31 aside from Stewart in St. Louis.

quote:

"I feel like I did well getting a 4.61 laser timed 40-yard dash and having a 4.12 shuttle time. I felt like that was impressive," Stewart said.

quote:

"He's a guy that had 24 tackles for loss, and it obviously shows up in a combine setting," Wiltfong said. "And I think what Jashaud Stewart showed in St. Louis over the weekend is that he's one of the more explosive edge guys in the country, and it's easy to see now why he had 24 tackles for loss on a team that made it all the way to the state championship game. He runs 4.6 on the laser at [223] pounds. He's got that burst. That's moving, so he's twitchy. With a [34.6-inch] vertical leap too, you see the explosiveness, the twitch, the get-off. That zero-to-10, zero-to-five, right when the ball is snapped, translates to the combine and really gives Arkansas a hell of an athlete to work with when they get their hands on him. Then you see the change-of-direction, the 4.14 [shuttle], and you feel like you have a guy that can play in space and do different things for you that can obviously accelerate and run."

quote:

"He's a unique body type for the position at the style he plays because he's not super long at least from a height standpoint, so you just wonder how much weight he's going to carry. But what he is is obviously athletic and explosive, and that led to production. Sometimes you see guys that are athletic but they don't produce," Wiltfong said.

quote:

As a junior last season, Stewart racked up 89 tackles, including 24 tackles for loss and six sacks. He also had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception for the Golden Hurricane. In January at the National Combine, Stewart checked in at 6-2, 209 pounds, so he was an inch shorter and 14 pounds heavier at in St. Louis. He also had a wingspan of 72.5 inches with 9.25-inch hands. In addition to Arkansas, Arkansas State, Houston, Kansas, Liberty, Memphis, SMU and Troy extended scholarship offers his way.
