Why are so many people angry about the TD review from last night?

Listening to College Sports Sunday on XM Radio they seemed to be upset over the Bryce Young touchdown that he fumbled and then recovered in the end zone. They feel as if that wasn't the correct call and to that I ask, how was it not? Yeah...he lost control of the ball before he broke the plain of the goal line but he quickly jumped on it and there was absolutely no video evidence of him losing the ball again after he covered it back up.

So what's the issue?

Yeah, I didn’t get that either. Young was clearly on top of it and one of the OL, Dalcourt I believe, even piled on and stuck his hand in there to help secure the ball/keep UT from taking it away…

It was clear to the officials, both replay and on the field, as they said the call was ‘confirmed’ not ‘stands’…

Maybe its a matter of fumbling fowards where the offense gets the ball where it was lost? I remember Latu securing a fumble in the endzone that was scored as a touchdown so I do not see a difference

What is the rule for fumbling into the endzone?
If another player recovers the ball it goes back to the spot of the fumble.
If the player recovers his own fumble in the endzone, it's a td.

Or did they change it?

It's that time of year where LSU's season is a complete wash so they're gonna dickride our opponents for the rest of the season

It’s that time of year. We get all the calls, it’s BS, etc. we could literally get called for 100 holding calls in a game and still be cheaters.

People are baffled Bama jumped up to no.3 in the polls. I’m fine with being a little lower but OSU has beaten a single ranked team and A&M is ranked top 15 now. I keep seeing people say Bama lost to an unranked team.

Young recovered in the end zone, as the video clearly shows.

At the very end though, UT had managed to wrestle the ball the ball away at some point. The problem with that though was the video showed Young had controlled it in the end zone first. Heupel was furious because UT “had” the ball when the dust settles, and I’m guessing others were just as stupid.

I was coming to post this myself.
Rick Neuheisel, who I like, equated that review by the SEC office to the Auburn Georgia State review calling them both "egregious".
No doubt Young fumbled prior to the endzone, but it was pretty clear to everyone he also recovered his own fumble.

ETA: and it was clear the caller, which prompted Rick's response, clearly posts on the SEC rant.

I would have assumed the caller was an LSU fan, but he didn't have a Cajun accent.

Yeah. They could still stumble later, but right now it seems clear that A&M was underrated when they played us.
