Jimmy Johns was selling, not buying.

JMO but the loss of Glenn Coffee due to BookGate cost Bama the Miss State

JPW throwing a 100 yard pick six right at the end of the first half cost Bama the MSU game. Minimum 10 point swing right there. Bama wins the game if not for that one play.

I think the one thing that didn’t buy in on that team was talent, it didn’t have any.

bullshite. Andre Smith, Antoine Caldwell, Rolando McClain, Mike Johnson, and Rashad Johnson all went on to become All Americans. Kareem Jackson started as a freshman and went on to become a first round draft choice. Javier Arenas. Glen Coffee.

Saying that team didn't have any talent is pretty fricking idiotic.

Bleacher Report published a piece on DJ Hall's attitude back in 2011: LINK

The best part of that article was the story of a teammate beating up Hall because of his attitude. I'd love to know who it was.

I was in Jax for the FSU game that first season. The worst football game I have been to in person.

Didn’t he discover he had a heart defect or something like that?

He did have a heart issue. He was placed on a medical disqualification. I believe he tried to play at Prairie View A&M. But eventually ended up finishing his career at Stillman.

Seconded

Alabama and FSU fans just kept looking at each other like "WTF happened to both of us?".

Knight played quite a bit that year. He had a couple INTs and looked pretty good at JACK. He probably could've been a pretty legit defensive player had he been able to develop there over 4 years.

You may be right. I couldn't remember exactly what it was.

You're right. It was 2007. He had 64 tackles. Damn, my memory is shite. He did get medically DQed in 2008 though.

Yep, and played on the Alabama Trainers co-ed intramural football squad. I know because our intramural squad ran up against them twice. I almost got into a fight with one of their fans because I was playing full speed and knocking down their female players (though I'm sure quite a bit of them were trained to take falls so they could get penalty yardage).

I'm sorry, but if you're out there on the field I'm not going to take it easy just because you're a girl. I'm playing to win.

This is a semi-reaction thread to the one about most-hated players on the SEC Rant. Everyone knows that D.J. Hall was the leader of that cabal of players on Nick Saban's first Alabama team who refused to buy what the coaches were selling. Out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone knew who the other players in that little niche were.

I know John Parker Wilson's girlfriend didn't buy in.

Nothing wrong with either, imo. Slanging herb is a community service. It makes the world a better place. But if you're gonna bang sluts, don't bang your QB's girlfriend. Or at least work hard and get a chance at the NFL.

I played pewee football all the way up with DJ, went to separate high schools, played with Glen Coffee after. DJ got really cocky about halfway through high school, once he went to Bama it was almost impossible to speak with him. Glen while work ethic was better gave up his pro career joins the Army and then gets the boot for pissing hot multiple times . 6RTB never told anyone why he was leaving but that’s why. Still send them a birthday text every year, but damn what could have been.

DJ Hall did not have sex with John Parkers girlfriend (and now wife) unless it was the most well kept secret in the history of college social circles and nobody in her sorority or even more specifically her pledge class knew about it.

Why all rhe downvotes in this thread? A lot of this stuff actually happened and a cleansing was absolutely needed in 2007.
