For all of you who say that Avery is underperforming, who could we get that would do better? AL basketball has always been bottom of the barrel in basketball and we have one of the worst arenas in the SEC.

I am willing to gamble on anyone at this point . Also, your takes on Bama basketball program are way off

This is equally as stupid as the people who argue "Alabama is #2 in the SEC in basketball" because of total wins.

Regular season championships
Kentucky 49
LSU 11
Tennessee 10
Alabama 8
Those are the top 4

Tournament championships
Kentucky 31
Alabama 6
Florida 4
Tennessee 4

F recruiting and other BS barometers.

Just go hire a guy who wants to shoot 50+% of attempts from 3FG, knows how to develop shot mechanics & knows how to evaluate "shooters". A good start would be the Houston Rockets D League staff

Auburn is effetively trying to do a bad version of that right now and it is working. The only problem is AU needs to lean even harder into it

I don't think kids should be allowed to comment on sports boards.

The coach of the league champion at your local YMCA is a better coach than Avery. That’s all the reason you need to fire him.

So which coach do you think would do a better job? If we fire Avery we better have someone better lined up.

Yeah Pitino would be better but could we afford him?

that is a valid question and a good point. This is not a great coaching window right now and a similar program, LSU is now already on the carousel. I'd rather wait, it's not like one more year of average basketball on top of our current 30 in a row, is going to kill anyone or push us over any edge while we wait for the Coleman renovation (which should honestly come before the stadium).

Categorically and demonstrably false. The program is one proven and accomplished leader away from the next level, we've just been determined, since Wimp Sanderson worked out, to hire assistant coaches or mid-major success gambles and consistently lost. We are no more handicapped by being Alabama, than the basketball programs at Michigan, Florida, Oklahoma or Ohio State.

Every day I pray that Donovan is like a secret furry and they Greg Byrne will find proof to blackmail him to Tuscaloosa.... because that's about the only way Billy to Bama is ever happening.

So I'm the dumb one for realizing that we would have to pay Avery and his entire staff's buyout while paying triple for someone like Pitino? He made 7.8 million at Louisville and I don't see Alabama spending that kind of money on a basketball coach...but no you are right firing Avery will instantly turn us into Kentucky/UNC

You have a loser mentality. If mediocrity is your thing, then knock yourself out, but don't condemn others because they want/expect better results.
