That list was made by old boomers that don't know shite. It, like espn, is complete trash.

Thorpe and Butkus made the top 10.
DT was 71 on their list.
These list and all time teams will always upset someone, there's just too damn big of a player pool to make everyone happy.

Still hard to believe not one player from the last three decades can’t make the top 20. The most recent was Barry Sanders in 1988.
Manning was from the 90s and didn’t make the list until #21.
I understand not wanting to show recency bias, but I have to believe there’s some middle ground.

Man, that list had to have been compiled by someone in love with the NFL. Jim Brown being selected as the all-time "NFL" running back is highly appropriate. I mean, who could argue.
Jim Brown, the number 1 college player, please.
1954 - 438 yards
1955 - 666 yards
1956 - 986 yards

Better yet, where was John Hannah? Possibly the best O-lineman that ever played the game isn’t in the top 10?

That's skewed by modern standards of the position, Brown would have easily been a 1200-1500 runner from 80s-on.
That also excludes his nation leading stats as a returner and job as starting kicker as well.
Not agreeing or disagreeing with Brown being #1, but EVERY player has an argument on the list to be higher/lower.
I will say, there is a "mythical" segment of players that just grows stronger as we get farther from their playing days. It's almost a fear to move them off their pedestals.
Reading stuff about Jim Thorpe almost comes off now as a tall tale. Not any left to verify some of that stuff...

It’s funny because we hear all the time right now about how some player is “generational.” Tua, Burrow, Cam, Tebow, Lawrence, etc. Yet we haven’t seen a Top 10 player in 30 years? BS.
I did get a laugh last night from some Tweet that basically said “Red Grange would literally die if he was tackled by Dylan Moses.” LOL

That list was garbage and should be immediately ignored. Tebow wasn't even in the top 50.

It will never be broken not in our lifetime if ever. The sun will swallow the solar system first.

Best player ever at an entire position cant make the top 25. Makes sense.
