Where can this team improve?

I think it's easy to say that this team needs to be better on defense, but just being realistic, this is not going to be a great defensive team. There seems to be too much youth. Maybe, though, there are areas where improvement is attainable with this group. What do you think? Here are some of mine:
1) Penalties - This is one area, especially on defense, where improvement is very attainable. Getting silly offsides penalties has already helped opponents sustain drives and ultimately come away with points on a couple of possessions this year. These penalties have also caused potential 3rd and long downs to turn into 3rd and short or manageable. This is one area where improvement should be easy to come by.
2) Punting - This is as simple as giving another guy a chance in my opinion. Either Reichard comes back healthy or you go to the next guy on the depth chart. 33 yards per punt with a shank on every third punt is just not good enough for a D1 scholarship punter.
3) Run game / ball control - I think the unit that started at A&M is our best unit. I think they will continue to gel and this is going to become a strength. Also, consider this: Neal has played 6 games in college and is adjusting to playing LG; Dickerson had never played center at all until this year and has started 2 games there. Brown is 2 games back from a long absence. I think our tackles had already done a pretty good job, and now the middle is starting to come together.
4) Tua on deeper throws - I think despite all the amazing stats this has been one area where Tua has struggled this year. He's not been great at hitting receivers further than 10 yards down field. On one hand I like that he's not taking as many chances when there's no need, but I also realize that when we are trying it, we aren't hitting at a great clip. I know he's capable, so I think there's a good chance this gets better. I also know that Sark's West Coast influence is probably a factor here.

I’d like to see quicker backs running through what I hope will be improving running lanes moving forward.
Najee and Robinson aren’t going to cut it.
I have nightmares of the LSU game being a great game until LSU starts turning around and handing it off to that guy they have who is VICIOUS hitting the hole and making it impossible to stop them while our guys slowly meander and plod around.

This is the only real criticism I have of Najee Harris. I think he's an outstanding runner, but he doesn't have quick feet, and seeing him approach the line tentatively time after time is frustrating.
His running has reminded me of Jalen's passing from 2017. Back then, Jalen wasn't going to throw the ball unless the receiver was flat-out wide open. Until recently, Najee wasn't going to hit a hole hard unless he could see three yards of green grass ahead of him.
Having said that, he has seemed to improve on that the last couple of games, and I'm hopeful he'll continue to progress going forward.

I don't disagree. Edwards-Helaire (sp?) is kind of ideal size for a RB. He is built like Mark Ingram.
I do think that the type of run plays make a huge difference, though. I've seen some downhill run game the past couple of weeks that gives me hope. What I don't like is the delay handoff stuff with our big guys. They're having to avoid traffic in the backfield and then try to get moving. Hopefully we can see more of that.

Saban could learn how to use timeouts. Especially, in the first half

This drives me insane. There have been at least a few times where we have taken a penalty instead of taking a timeout (e.g. for substitution penalties, maybe a delay of game).

Definitely what you mention is true.
Specifically about the defense: this team may go as far as the freshmen LBs learn to quickly read and react to the RPO. . . or, I suppose, how well Saban and Golding come up with something to confuse QBs on these.
I watched Florida v LSU and while Florida's best pass rushers being out of the game certainly made matters worse, Florida's LBs were a disaster reading those plays. Seemed the exact RPO accounted for almost every LSU big play and Florida was never able to adjust.
For LSU as well as looking forward to almost any potential playoff matchup, it's going to be last team with the ball or who settles for the most FGs wins if we can't slow down that simple RPO.

I wish we would just fire that moron Saban!

I agree with most of your notes but as to Tua struggling on longer passes, I am sure you remember that last year he was a veritable ESPN highlight completing the intermediate and long balls, but the complaint last year was that he didn't check down often enough. And yes, I do see that you commented that he is capable. Of that, I have no doubt.

1) PUNTING x 1000!!!!!!! There has got to be someone on the roster that can punt the ball 40-45 yards consistently!! I don't give a shite if it's Matt Wommack or Landon Dickerson!!!
2) PENALTIES!!! I can stomach the going hard and commit a penalty. It's the false starts, lining up offsides, etc. that drive me batshite crazy!!

I dont know about Tua not hitting recievers more than 10 yards down field. Thats not true, but he has overthrown several long balls.

Tua most certainly can hit passes more than ten yards down field. He is also an assassin on slants. In the end though, I don’t care how we score or how pretty some guy’s “deep-ball“ looks. The point is to score more than your opponent and win championships. Right now Alabama has a formidable combination of offense and defense to win a championship.

Tua is 45th in the country completing balls more than 10 yards downfield this year. That’s completion percentage.

Tua has attempted very few deep balls this year, choosing instead to take dumps and Qi k slants.

He's definitely been a little off down the field this year. Not drastically, but we've missed on 6-7 balls where the receiver had a step.
Hopefully it's just small sample size, but we'll need him to hit some more of those at some point.
