Assuming Tua leaves, what is your plan?

I know Mac Jones is a very good backup QB, but do you think he will be ready to start for a team like Alabama?

Is there a possibility you go the Grad Transfer route?

Or will you try to bring in a Freshman QB?

Georgia obviously has a similar situation. Stetson Bennett is smart and talented, but is too short to start. We have another Freshman QB Dwan Mathis, but nobody knows how good he will be since he is not cleared to play due to recent brain surgery.

Georgia also has a 4 star commit Carson Beck for 2020, but I can’t imagine he’d be ready.

I find it interesting how similar of QB situations Georgia and Alabama have, and I’m interested in seeing the decisions both schools make.

With the RBs available while losing QB and 2-3 starting WRs, I would expect a return to the ground and pound attack.

That makes sense. For Georgia, with a former WR Coach as OC, I expect us to pass more in the future. We also recruited heavy at WR last year.

Mac Jones can be just as good as McElroy and Macarron since he has the M and c in his name and the M is capitalized and c is lowercase. So we good.

But what does his mom or sister look like*?

*Didn't GMac have a hot sister? I seem to remember that.

Saban won't go back to conservative football. It hurts recruiting and is just giving away an athletic advantage versus other teams. Also, our receiving corp will still be awesome next year.

I'll say this. Whoever wants to beat out Mac Jones better show up and play real good football, because it seems Mac Jones is doing just that.

I think Bama can win with Mac Jones at the helm this year. And based on our recent injury history, the odds are high that we'll need to do just that.

I think it'll be Mac but it'll depend on how he does this year...

For UGA, I think Fromm could return next year...not that he won't have the chance to turn pro, but something about him makes me think he could very well pull a Peyton Manning and return for his senior year...

I think Mac has the potential to be an effective SEC QB, but not a difference maker.

I think his ceiling is Aaron Murray and his floor is Greg McElroy.

This is the real issue. The team should focus on the QB route for 2019 should injury issues return that have plagued the starter both in season and off season.

I don't disagree with your sentiment, but our 2nd team QB could be arse in a given year, as could anyone's. If Mac Jones comes in in relief of Tua and is "effective", a big "difference" has been "made" for Alabama. A big one.

I see no reason to doubt Mac Jones' ability to be AJ McCarron.

You have your QB room battle it out, between Jones, Lia, and Tyson. You take the one that puts you in the best position to win and makes the least mistakes.

Looks like people are already writing off baby Tua. I think he gives Jones a run for his money.
