We missed on two 5-star ILBs in the Class of 2019 and signed two better players

Shane Lee and Christian Harris over Nakobe Dean and Henry To'oto'o.
Feels good, man. Real good.

They really looked solid out there yesterday.

Coaching plays a role.
HT’s career may very well be ruined by his decision to sign with UT.

But Pruitt had that video to show how Mack Wilson regressed.

I hope Lee and Harris continue to get better with more experience. Likewise with Dale. SEC play will be a different beast.

this is just a guess. but last years ilb play may have been the result of a coach never having coached that position before, maybe just a lil bit....

Henry To'oto'o needs to transfer. I hate to see a talented kid end up ruined due to external circumstances.

Was it the video that got him for UT?? I thought he was ours until Tosh left?

It was Tosh leaving and Tennessee has an assistant from HT's high school. Yet in still I don't understand how you turn down Alabama to go there. Saban and his system is proven as it gets and you take a wildcard? The kid was misled.

JJ Peterson and Quay Walker haven’t been that great either.

We got really fortunate with the young guys. Not only did we miss on several guys that went to other schools, we’ve also missed on guys we signed. Cowan, Ben Davis, Benton, etc.
We need to sign a really solid class of ILBs in 2020. For depth moving forward. I wonder what the odds of Moses and/or McMillon coming back are?

I said earlier in another thread that we'd seen the last of Dylan Moses in crimson and if those two freshman ILBs look good in conference play how do you sit one of them for Dylan or McMillon next season? I don't think you can in that case.

If Moses comes back, he’s taking a spot, period. I’d love to have McMillon back as a leader, special teams guy and a super solid #2 Mike. He’d be a real asset either way. Hope they both come back although I sort of suspect neither will.

No doubt. Fortunately our 2020 ILB class is looking really good and I do believe that Benton and Kaho can be good players for us in the future.

Dylan would move to OLB IMO if he came back next year

Moses weighs like 230 lbs. He is not nearly big enough to be an every down OLB in our defense. Our OLBs are usually in the 260+ range. They are essentially DEs.

Read a detailed review of Tennessee/GSU from a Tennessee writer and it basically said To'to got benched because he was so lost on what GSU was doing.

ha. When I think of complex and innovative offense, I always think of Georgia State.

Shane Lee is about to biscuits short of a nose tackle....but the guy has good speed. It appears both he and #8 have football savvy in addition to ability....that is a good thing...Forrest Gump

It all comes down to coaching. Stick To'to in a Sal Sunseri-coached linebacker corps and he might have played exactly like Shane Lee and Christian Harris did the other night. They both seem very instinctual, but I think some of that comes down to coaching and development.
