They put up 351 on Auburn and 465 on LSU.

Let's not act like our defense was abused.

How is it waking up in your new place. Forget where you were for a minute? Mullen has a good offense. They made LSU look like middle schoolers trying to defend them. Fitzgerald is a freak and hard to defend.

They took their opportunities. The 3rd down success rate was incredible, didn't help that early in the game we would get them 3 and out then commit a dumb penalty and extend the drive

They ran the play clock down to :02 every snap and shortened the game.

They were abused.

Martinas Rankin is projected to be a first round pick. I've seen some mocks having him as high as a top 10 pick. He is a bad man, he is going to push people around.

Let’s not sugar coat this and whistle past the graveyard. Our defensive front 7 got abused, ABUSED, last night like Harvey Weinstein at a Miss America pageant. If you didn’t see that, you weren’t watching the same game as me.

That's a better perspective. I like it.

The eye test and stats tell two different stories. The injuries at LBer hurt badly, but the front was not getting any penetration. It's understandable when they're getting yards by pulling a guard, because they're cleaning up the linebacker and opening a huge lane. It's another when our guys can't simply beat their guy one-on-one.

We simply just don't have the players or experience up front this year. I was hoping someone would develop some better techniques inside, but I guess it takes time. Allen didn't become the monster he was until his junior year, so I guess that's something to look forward to next year.

I think it would be really beneficial for Payne's stock if he came back next year.

Transitive property scoring can be a scary thing. But I am pretty sure that those 2 games were not played @ MS State.

The only complaint I have about Bama was the play calling. It's almost as if we are using the pass to set up the run.

And both were the home team in the games. Obviously MSU is a much better team at home.

Both games on the road, while State was getting endless amounts of hype. Mullen and State are simply much better when they're perceived as a team who has no shot. Beating LSU by 30 did them no favors.

Also, State knows they have Bama at the right time- after the LSU game.

not an excuse for how we played but those damn cowbells should not be allowed, as in totally not allowed.

Obviously defense played much better in the second half but either way State got about 4.5 yards a play. We just aren't used to seeing that.

People complaining about the d line doesn't make a lot of sense. They played well and got plenty of penetration on passing down. On running plays they are supposed to control their gaps and let the LB fill the holes. It was obvious that most of our LBs were a step slow recognizing the play or just couldn't make the tackle.

Moses played a few series and literally could not make good decisions based on the keys State was showing. Holcombe would make the decision quicker, but just couldn't make the plays. Also Tony brown continues to struggle to make tackles in space, I am surprised he is still playing

I still believe that had we not gotten that dumb penalty on the first punt of the game it would have been a different football game altogether. I hate that stupid penalty to begin with. How is a bum rusher going airborne any less safe than a RB going airborne at the goal line?

Some good observations.

MSU pulls an OLman on a lot of their running plays. In the early going I think our LBs and DBs were reading their pulls to determine run vs pass. Mullen tricked them by pulling an OLman on passing plays too. It was freezing the LBs and DBs for a bit and burning us. I think our booth staff picked up on that and adjusted to having our LBs and DBs watch the backfield instead.

I was ready to join cobrasize in coming to Prattville to burn down your house. You moving into an AU house was the logical explanation for our fears of losing last night.

We are starting the process of cleansing those demons today. After the Saints game, of course.

That's exactly what we need to do against Auburn.

The longer their offense is on the bench the better off we are.
