So this is my 2nd game I’ve gotten back from at my alma mater this year, and I gotta say....this Paul Tyson kid is just on another level man. Idk how good Hoover is, but they’re 2 time defending state champs and rarely let up for extended periods of time without championships in football.

The previous 2 years Hewitt was in a weird zone where a lot of their competition was leftover 6A cupcakes instead of good Jeff. County competition they used to play before their temporary rezoning about 5-6 years ago. It was attributed to their 2 undefeated regular seasons even though they did beat the playoff competition they faced by considerable margins.

HOWEVER, this year, they were rezoned again to the meat grinder, SEC West like 7A Region 3 with likes of Hoover, Thompson, Mountain Brook, Vestavia and Spain Park. Of all the tough opponents they’ve played, Tyson has just looked unstoppable. They’ve got some top guys like Quick and Worsham, but he still just looks like a magician throwing the football, especially in person. Hewitt beat Hoover by 4 TDs 56-28. They hadn’t beat them in literally 25 years.

Definitely glad he’s a Bama commit cause he’s just about everything you could want in a QB. Fun fact: Josh Floyd, the coach, is a Gus Malzahn former QB. He led an Arkansas Christian school to 2 state titles before Trussville threw the bank at him. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up in the SEC 5-10 years down the road, especially if he wins a string of championships, however unlikely that may be.

Anyway, sorry if this should for be in another mega thread I’m just saying....don’t be surprised if he either ends up starting or is at least in really heavy competition, most likely with mini Tua, who really doesn’t have ideal size at 5-11 203. But he’s still a beast nonetheless.

His throwing motion kinda concerns me though. He kinda pushes the ball. But I’m glad to have two great QBs entering the program next year.

He can't be worse than Phillip Rivers who's a great passer.

Tua’s brother had over 500 yards passing and 4 TDS against Oak Mountain last night. He also had over 400 with 4 TDs against Hoover (in a loss).

I don’t care about his height, Taulia is elite and the best passer in the state (and one of the best in the country).

Appreciate the info. We are set at quarterback the next three or four years. Maybe the next five years.

Yeah Taulia performed well against Hoover, besides the bad INT late.

What were Paul Tyson stats?

Team victories are great but what he individually did matters most.

Tyson was 14-of-18 with 256 yards and touchdowns to Auburn commit Ja’Varrius Johnson, who had four catches for 152 yards, and Alabama commit Dazalin Worsham, who finished with six catches for 81 yards. …

14 of 18 for 256 and 2 TDs is pretty damn efficient.

Yeah that's a great game especially considering the opponent.

Don’t worry, we’ll change him into a game manager. How does he look handing the ball off?

I didn't see the game, but looking at his stats he wasn't asked to do too much and he was extremely efficient.

If I had to make a recent comparison, I’d say he’s a WAYYYYYY more far along AJ at his time in high school. He’s had a good bit of times where he’s thrown 809627627 yards in a game like Taulia, but to be honest, he probably is the QB that Nick Saban would love to manage the frick out of

Regardless though, both are a joy to watch, but Tyson reminds me a lot more of a Saban QB than Taulia does. Even though Tua is kind of breaking the mold at the moment.
