Update:

LINK

So, now there are anonymous Dolphin players saying they aren’t happy with Tua’s ability to start - dating back to training camp last year (weren’t they going slow with him then?).

Not sure if this is a smoke show by some to get Tua out or what? Are players wanting him out to get their guy (Watson maybe?) in? This the Fritz corner guys airing some frustrations?

Not a good look regardless. If this was going on, no wonder the kid never smiled late in the year. He looked miserable.

Here is the old post:

LINK

Appears Watson is unhappy in Texas and wants a trade.

Would be wild if that happened.

I just can’t see this happening for either team. Houston trades away their franchise QB and the only attraction in the organization during their HC search? And Miami blows up their entire plan since Flores arrived and gives away the draft capital they’ve been building for two years?

Sounds like the media wants to talk about it because Miami is one of the only teams with the pieces to make a trade work, but it doesn’t make sense to me for anyone involved.

All of the Houston “insiders” are adamant that a trade will not happen.

The Texans hate Watson too much to ever trade him.

Houston owner really need to smooth things over with Watson. He screwed up when he bypassed the recommendation by the board. To fix that, he gonna have to rescind the GM job offer and make it right. Other than that, he fricked up royally.

This idea that an owner of a team needs to apologize to a player is nonsense. No matter how good a player is, he is not the team. The owner owes him a paycheck, nothing more.

Yeah, I don’t get how a player has a right to tell an owner who HIS pick is for any position, let alone GM.

If Miami offered Tua, a first, and second for Watson. I think Houston would have to think hard about it.

The have been gutted by BoB.

Miami makes that trade in a heart beat.

He likely should have had at least an interview, but you can't let the players run the team. Definitely could have handled better.

You're actually crazy if you believe that. What's Watson going to do? He's under contract for 4 more years. Is he going to sit out and not get paid during his prime years? He going to play but not play hard and, thus, hurt his trade value and his next contract? No. He's going to pout and then move on.

I think it's more about how the franchise is ran rather than being upset his picks weren't choose.

Front office has been a disaster. Traded away Hopkins for peanuts. They didn't want to pay the man. They hired a GM whose previous team hasn't hit on a 1st rd draft pick for what 10 years? They've went to Watson on his thoughts then not even interview his picks. What's the point in that?

Let's be real. Every employee wants to be put in a position to excel. If they aren't, employees have the right to change companies.

Watson isn't obliged to put his neck out for a team that doesn't put him in a position to succeed.

On the other side, Watson got paid. Watson got a franchise LT. I think at this point, team and Watson have to meet in the middle.

ETA: They've wasted JJ Watts career. Look at him, he has called out players and the organization.

Something is going on - they see something in Tua in practices 1/2 way though the season and bench their winning QB for him - then contain him from being who he is.

He doesn’t have a great year but isn’t terrible (until the last few games when he would not, for the life of himself, throw the ball downfield).

It was so weird watching him in Miami. After his first game, I never saw a smile on the sidelines - he was the anti-Tua. Completely different personality. He looked like he was having zero fun out there.

I kind of doubt we're ever going to see the same Tua that played his first year and a half at Alabama, before injuries started taking a toll on his game, physical and mental.

Kind of makes you wonder about Flores and his staff. Minkah and Drake were both miserable there but have flourished since being traded.

That was pre-Flores, was it not?

Nope, Flores threw Drake out of practice prior to his trade and Minkah was a Flores trade too. But that still doesn't make me question them after seeing their defense this year, it was legit.
