Was Tua going to score on the play he fumbled?

If I’m not mistaken it was 3rd and goal. Would he have gotten in the end zone? From my seat it looked like it would be close when he started to roll out up until he fumbled.

From the angle I saw he would have been short..I think thats what got him to fumble..he didn't expect the LB to be there that fast and was adjusting the ball for the hit.

Seems like a defender was closing fast.

It looked like he was cut off.

2 or 3 were. Wish he would have just thrown it away and live for the FG attempt, but can't fault his competitiveness I guess.

If he was healthy maybe. Saturday, no he was going to be short.

I agree.. Just wish he would have had that same mentallty on that 3rd down run when he slid. We needed that one
but to his defense he probably thought Sark would just call a series of 2 stretch screens, and pull the guard trap play out of shotgun on the next 3rd and 2.

No way, was gonna be multiple yards short

I am 100% confident he doesn’t score. Defenders were closing in quick.

It depends on how their players tackle.....well they don't use the same technique as our DB's.

I still can't get over the way we tackled.. Never seen that under Saban. That and penalties were the biggest dissipointments I took away from the game.

the tackling or lack thereof, was atrocious. by everybody! it was sickening to watch time and time again.

No and further I expect we would have missed the FG from the right hash mark

I thought he was going to be short.

Id take tua chances of scoring there over a fg attempt lol...I dont think he had a chance but still the TO was a huge momentum shift in the game and a FG would of still been a huge difference in the start and towards the later part of the game.

was not going to score.....however, he could have walked in a play or 2 earlier when he tried to throw it to Najee in the left flats...the middle was wide open!

and that's just it. As previously noted, the injury impacted his game both physically and mentally. He didn't have the speed nor the confidence to play his best game. But yet, even some supposed Alabama fans were trashing the guy for what, for him, was a subpar game (over 400 yards and 4 tds).

So many people (talking about non Bama fans on reddit and here) were accusing him of faking the limping. All because Saban said he was a 100% (as a passer not runner). He clearly wasn’t comfortable running.

We prioritize stripping the runner may more than simply tackling short of the line to gain mark. It’s hard to watch sometimes and gives the other team hope, dragging our would be tacklers down the field.
