I am hooked on the Coaches Film Room Broadcasts. Each guys coaching personality comes out. It's really cool and I hope the keep it going.

I'm watching it now and David Cutcliff is killing my nerves.

This just in a QB who has played one half of football down by 13 against the number 3 defense in the national championship as a true freshman can improve.

Some of yall are miserable fricks who don't know shite about football. Football is not a game of being perfect. You can look at just about every play ever and say oh this guy was open too or oh he should have done this instead.
And somebody else is in this thread acting like they are a QB whisperer when they've never played a down at the position. STFU.

No doubt. True Freshman, didn't play a lot this season.

The talent is there. The moxie is there. His ceiling is damn near infinite, but he's not as impressive on the third watch as he was on the first. Once the emotion died and the analytical came in, you can see he's got a lot of work ahead of him.
He just has it. Watch him in the pocket (most of the time), watch him throw the ball, watch him dissect, and you can just see it. He's special. As much as I love Jalen, Tua's got so much that he doesn't. I mean to not play the first half of a title game against a top 5 defense and still come in and throw 3 TDs including the game winner...

Why are some taking offense if some believe is will only get better. Tua did what most thought he was capable of but I am one that believes his game will only get better. Did he play great for us in the NCG yes but some of that was attributed to Saban putting him in and Kirby like about 99% of the people have said were surprised. I doubt Kirby planned for him and why many are calling it one of Saban's best coaching adjustments. I remember when Colt went down and their freshman Garrett(?) came in and starting slinging the ball on us but mainly we had not prepared to defend against him.
In the end the future is bright for Tua. Hurts has done a great job for UA and I hope he continues to make our program successful.

Of course Tua can improve. He’s a true freshman. But how much of an improvement is he over Hurts. This isn’t bashing Hurts statement but let’s be honest. Tua had better pocket awareness. He moved with the pocket and stayed with the play. When he was forced out he kept his eyes downfield. It wasn’t an immediate bail on the play. Tua threw receivers open and anticipated where the receiver would be. I recall one play specifically where the receiver had not yet made his cut and Tua had already released the ball to where the receiver would be. All of his deep balls were catchable. Albeit it would have taken a great catch by the receiver but they had a chance. The throw to Juedy in the end zone was thrown high to where only he could get it but I agree there were better options. But how many of the deep balls was of us trying to playing catch up? I agree Tua has a lot to work on but he is already an improvement over Hurts. That’s a good start in the right direction.

maybe you can go tutor him since you learned so much on your 3rd watch..

Just rewatched it myself. The coaches had great insight btw. Tua had some head scrathers and made some bad throws, i.e. the TD to Ridley, the pass to Juedy. I just attribute it to being a true freshmen in a title game. Let's think about that. Despite playing against the best defense in the nation during practice, he is still a true freshmen that was playing his first half of football all season. Even more impressive when you say it aloud.

There seems to be a faction of people here who seem to think that because some people thought Tua would be a better QB, that they think he's perfect. We all appreciate your wisdom, but everyone knows he's going to make mistakes, especially as a freshman. He's going to miss throws. He's going to miss reads. He'll fumble.
We know this. So, soothe your burned egos some other way because the fact that Tua is a long way from being polished, isn't a "gotcha" revelation.
But he's better than Hurts.

I watched the 2nd half last night on the All 22 and it was awesome. No talking, stadium sounds, entire field.

Kirby said in his presser after the game they knew Tua was coming in and had film on him and prepped for him. Makes UGA look worse IMO.

That's why it's far superior. I've watched every game since 2015 that way.

I think I'm just going to stay out of QB convos from here on out for the most part, because I just can't fathom picking apart that insane performance by Tua in his defense.

man, any quarterback that has ever played will miss open receivers. Its very easy for anyone to see them in slow motion film replay. When was the last time he had even been in a game? His dad wasn't even too sure it was a good idea to put Tua in that position. The bottom line is that he put us in position to win it in regulation, and then won it in the first OT. He 2 biggest mistakes were the pass-interception on a running play and the sack just before the final play. But sure, he will get better with experience, just as the Ga QB did this year.

It's just exciting to have a new qb come in and take over the game in that fashion and I like looking closely at what transpired and discussing it now that we have seen him play in some real action. None of this is trying to bring him down or compare him to Hurts or anything of that nature - just talking football and looking ahead to the next season.

Sumlin makes this exact point during the broadcast. He was like, "it's easy for us to sit here with these camera angles and nitpick a QB, but we aren't out there with pressure in our face having to make these quick decisions."

There is nothing wrong with that, and I enjoy that too. The only time I get annoyed is when posters call players 'garbage','trash', 'dumbasses' etc, which no one is doing in here obviously.
