More from Oats: No set lineup for the regular season as they look to work Beetle Bolden, Jaden Shackelford and (hopefully) Jahvon Quinerly into the rotation.

Oats must have been told we are likely to win the appeal on JQ. He is already making plans with him

Beetle was fun to watch. The guy looked like he just enjoyed being out there. Assuming he can stay healthy, which will is huge assumption, he’ll be a crowd favorite.

Like the clear weak links of the team. Any team with a solid post player will abuse us.

I could be misremembering, but the way Shackelford squares his shoulders reminds me a lot of Rod Grizzard.

Does he have the same kind of swag as the Grizzard of Oz though?

We are dangerous when we are shooting well, especially with Reese at the 5. We’re really susceptible down low defensively when he’s in though.

Yeah, I’m all for moving him to the 5 full-time and playing smaller at the 4. Didn’t see the game, but looking at his stat line, it doesn’t look like Smith has changed much. Reese even rebounded well.

For those that saw the game, looking at the minutes played from our bigs, it looks like Reese spent 12 of his 16 minutes at the 5, right?

He did not appear to lack confidence

He’s got an extremely quick release too. I don’t see him having any problem being able to get 3s off.

This is the best Alabama I’ve seen in person. I know that’s not really saying much since I started following when we hired Grant but I enjoyed every second of that game today

Is there anyway to rewatch the game? Would love to see it again.

KenPom has us at 70 to start the season and has GT at 66.

I know it isn’t really relevant at all yet, but interesting nonetheless.

It’s the first time we’ve had an actual coherent offensive philosophy in a long time. Plenty of work to do defensively but the effort and intensity alone will win us some of those games that seem to always put us on the wrong side of the NCAAT bubble.
