Multiply it by 1.75 and we’ll see his full potential. He’s crazy.

Not important, but I’ve been tracking his stats closely and I just wanted to add one category:

Rushing without sacks: 16 rushes for 116 yards getting 7.25 yards on average and scoring two touchdowns.

Also, minor edit, he has 103 yards rushing now, mot 108. I hate to snub him those 5 yards, but accuracy is important to Tua.

Word is, he’s a turnover machine in practice.

You know the td pass he had against Louisville, the one where he was spun around and tossed it up and got slammed on the ground?

Haven't seen anything else attempted like that since. I think that is evidence that he takes coaching and is looking to make consistently good decisions.

Didn't look like he was 100% on today IMO, bailed on the pocket early a few times but is improving weekly. The offense is completely different with that kind of weapon at qb.

Since he isnt going to get as much playing time as other Heisman candidates...those stats will hurt him in my opinion.
He was played what 2.5/4 games so far. That is just unreal at this point.

I think it helps him. The media loves Tua, his story and character will help him standout over the rest as long as he keeps playing up to his standard.

I'm thinking the Oklahoma QB will get more snaps throughout the season and have higher total yards, maybe more TD passes. Right now the watch has OK QB in first but that list changes all throughout the year.

The Heisman is suppose to go to the best player, not the person with the best stats.

Not worrying about the Heisman. Someone like McSorley is gonna shine in some classic games several times over the course of the season, and that person will win the trophy.

However, if it's Tua shining in classic down to the wire games, then he just may be the one. Otherwise, I just don't think they'll give him the award.

Then why do only QBs and RBs (usually on big teams) win the award?

Because it actually doesn’t always go to the best player.

More stats per SI.

quote:

Tagovailoa has led 32 drives. They’ve ended in the following results: 20 touchdowns, six punts, two field goals, two turnovers, one missed field goal, and one first half expiration. Those drives have gained 1,502 yards on 161 plays, a 9.32-yard average

all of this will matter or not matter based on how he does in the LSU/MSU/Barn games where Bama will need all of his skills and magic. These will supply his Heisman Moment or not. the lead up games are just alerting people (voters) that this kid is real and they need to think about him but in the hard games he will need all of his weapons to be ready and available (O Line this means you as well) so he can outshine the competition. TUA TIME...

McSorely isn’t getting anything.

The top ones right now are Tua, Haskins (OSU), Murray (OU), and Grier (WVU). All are QBs, and all except Grier play for top ranked blue blood teams.
