True Freshmen

Is it just me, or have fewer true freshmen gotten significant playing time this year than any year since Saban has been here? I don't think that that is a bad thing by any means. Probably a good thing if anything. Waddle is the only one I can think of that has made any kind of impact. Just a thought.

Surtain has made a pretty big impact too. Part of it is the tremendous sophomore class and also a result of one of Saban’s worst recruiting classes.

Could the the new redshirt rule play a part?
Allowed a larger look at freshman, while not having to burn a year of eligibility.
Waddle, Surtain, Kaho, and .... Delong have been the biggest contributors from this class.
Eyabi Anoma had some flashes, but he's had multiple penalties that were pretty bad too. Sloppy horse collar and a personal foul against Citadel that Saban did not let him forget.
Only 6 guys haven't played at least a snap from this freshman class. 8 have exhausted their redshirt potential for 2018.

Parks,Anoma,and Latu must be very raw still. Because Miller and Jennings have played a shite ton of snaps this year.
